The Black Necromancer

Chapter 524: Instant Death!

Nedra's form hung in the sky, attracting the gazes of many. Everyone could feel the powerful aura that emanated from her, almost equal to, but falling short of the true might of a Major God.

Ever since Leon had gone into seclusion, she had been a bit more active. Only Kaladin knew that she was around, and that was after the spar between the six summons. He had kept silent about her presence, as she had asked him to.

Nedra's red eyes gazed coldly at the enemies before her. She felt angry that the world she had called her home for decades was being attacked. She did not like the Gods that had oppressed their world for so long, but she would do her part in protecting what she called home. She would protect what her children called home.

"My children. Come, fight by your mother." Nedra's tone was ethereal as she spoke. She spread out her arms and her eyes turned red with power while the rest of her body glowed with white light.

From that white light, hundreds of white silhouettes dashed out, surrounding Nedra in different poses and ways. Some of them held weapons while others did not.

When the white light around Nedra died down, the silhouettes also became clear, revealing hundreds of white haired beings. Each and every one of them resembled the White Millipedes, but none of them were. They were actually manifestations of Nedra's Divine Power.

It was similar to her clone ability from when she was a mortal, but now, it had been boosted to absurd levels when paired with her Divine Power.

With each manifestation bearing the power of a peak strength celestial creature, the force that she was able to wield could be said to have neared the realm of Major Gods!

Without any further delays, Nedra waved her hand and the clones all dashed out, tearing into the enemies. Each of them possessed a weaker version of her powers, which meant that they were akin to lethal assassins! With their bodies suddenly turning invisible and sometimes even fooling their enemies with phantom projections, it was not difficult for their presence to be felt!

While not all clones had it easy against their opponents, the sudden arrival of hundreds of powerful reinforcements greatly lessened the burden on the defenders! That was not even considering Nedra herself, as she had yet to join the fight!

Perhaps it was because Nedra had hung back, but one of the enemy Gods believed that Nedra was unable to move and fight freely when using such a technique. He was a God whose moves revolved around stealth and assassination, so in a swift movement, he arrived behind Nedra, a black dagger that reeked of everything that encompassed the words rot and decay, in his hands.

He eagerly stabbed it into Nedra's back, only to have the dagger pass through nothing.

The Nedra before him was nothing but an apparition, and he had fallen for it!

"Did you think it would be that easy?" A soft voice fluttered in his mind and he realized that he could not move. Several long, thick and sharp swords had locked around his limbs. Upon a closer inspection, he was shocked to find that the things that locked his limbs were not swords, but rather, the giant, armored legs of a creature!

It was at this time that the projection before him gave way, revealing a giant white millipede that was hundreds of meters long. Thousands of legs were underneath its body, and the enemy God was trapped in the middle of those legs.

"!!" The enemy God realized his mistake, but it was too late. Nedra's legs pierced into his body, injecting large amounts of Divine Power that quickly began to disintegrate his Divine Spark while gathering the released energy and drawing them into the legs that were stabbed into his body.

"N-noooo!" The screams of the God rang out and the others on the invading side paled. The assassin God was a strong Minor God and possessed near unparalleled stealth and assassination powers among the detachment that had been sent here. None of the others, their dead leader included, had the confidence to escape him if he set his mind on assassinating one of them.

However, such a frightening figure had been killed so swiftly!

"What is the meaning of this?! Is this a stagnant world? Why are we attacking a world with such powerful and talented warriors?!" One of the Gods who had been rather unsatisfied for some time protested.

While the minor ranks and fodder were loyal to a fault, down to the point of not even having true independent thoughts of their own, the Gods were different. They were loyal to the Army of Destruction, but that did not mean that they did not have independent thoughts of their own. They could show their dissatisfaction and irritation without any problems.

When they saw how easily Nedra had dealt with the assassination God, they were intimidated. As for Kaladin dealing with their strongest, that was a different matter, as he had not come out unscathed at all. He was already nearly defeated.

However, Nedra had just come and easily dealt with the second strongest in one swift move, not even leaving him a chance for retaliation!

Too ruthless!

While they were angry and dissatisfied, none of them actually dared to turn and flee. The rules that bound the soldiers of the Army of Destruction strictly made it clear that desertion was a death sentence. And worst of all, it was not an instant death. Whoever was marked for death would suffer for centuries before finally being given the chance to die.

They would die in shame and disgrace, with nothing to their names. It was not what they wished. They would rather die in battle than to go out that other way.

Several Gods on the defending side turned their attention away from the army they were dealing with and turned to Nedra. They could spot a petite, cute figure sitting on the head of the giant millipede with a sweet smile on her face. But none of them found her sweet. Instead, they found her to be extremely intimidating and fearsome!
