The Chronicles of the Immortal God

Chapter 147: Encounter

Chapter 147: Encounter

“Swoosh!” Right now, Fang Lin and his companions were riding a spirit ship to leave the Forest of Death. This spirit ship was found by the Wolf King 6 years ago. Since he cannot use it, he just gave it to Xue’er. They were now using this spirit ship to go to the Solstice Kingdom. With the speed of the spirit ship, he reckons they will reach the Solstice Kingdom in 3 hours.

Fang Lin could not help but smile to himself despite the dangers they were in now.

Fang Lin did not expect himself to get some wonderful harvests this night. The first one was of course the claw that his pops left him.

That claw contained the Wolf King’s essence. Fusing it with his body provided the catalyst for his ‘dog’ form. With that, he successfully emulated the Undead Wolf Essence. Now, he had two essences that he can use to fight; the Mountain-Bashing Boar and the Undead Wolf Essence. With these and his bloodline abilities, he was sure he can give a good fight against some Second Stage Practitioners!

Fang Lin then quietly observed the claw that was now lodged in his right hand. He tried taking it out, but it would not budge no matter what. From what he can feel, this wolf claw was a powerful trump card. As such, he can only use this in critical situations.

He put the matter of the claw at the back of his mind as he mulled at the memories of Fang Yu.

When Fang Lin had successful emulated the Undead Wolf Essence, he was freed of his pup form. He then reestablished connection with Fang Yu. All her experiences, from her kidnapping until the arrival of the Underworld Army and the abduction of Wang Hao entered his mind.

“......” Fang Lin realized the chaos that the Solstice Kingdom was now in. But that chaos brought him and his companions a chance for survival. Even if Fang Lin knew that they will be going on a crossfire, being there with some allies was much better than being chased by 5 Peak Fifth Stage Practitioners.

As for the second one, it was his marriage with Xue’er. Of course, he was taken aback by the suddenness of it, but he knew that it was inevitable.

Both him and Xue’er had Godly Divine Beast Bloodlines. Not only that, Fang Lin now had a wolf essence in his body. As such, both of them had high degrees of attraction in terms of bloodline. Even without the marriage card, he and Xue’er will be compelled to be attracted with each other.

One more reason was that it was the Wolf King’s will. Even if Xue’er was the ugliest creature in the world, Fang Lin will still marry her to respect the wishes of the Wolf King who was about to sacrifice his life for him.

Now, Fang Lin could only cherish the time he will spend with Xue’er.

Besides, this was much better than those arranged marriages that he read on some novels. On those arranged marriages, the male and the female were forced to married due to family agreement. This agreement may be based on friendship of the patriarchs, or some political move.

Even if they had not even met each other, they were bound to marry each other already. This of course brings bitter feelings on both parties, since there’s a chance they are not attracted to each other and they felt their lives were being controlled.

Marriages like these usually lead to an unhappy life for the married couple. Only on the rare cases that they bloom into something wonderful.

At least in Fang Lin’s case, both he and Xue’er were attracted with each other. Their relationship will just improve compared to those forced into arranged marriages.

Fang Lin then shook his head while thinking,

“Isn’t this bloodline thing a little forced? Well, I feel fine marrying such a beautiful girl, but she said she will only marry the one she loves.”

“Does that mean she loves me already?” He then looked at Xue’er. Xue’er still looked downcast, but she had a small smile on her face as she chatted with Mina. As for what they were talking about, Fang Lin reckoned that it was just girly stuff.

Once Xue’er saw him looking at her, she flushed as she turned her head away. Fang Lin could only chuckle as he saw that she was still shy.

“Well, seems like she’s only attracted to me too. As for love, we will find it once we continue to be together.” Fang Lin then paused, thinking of one more person.

“Tang Ya....”

Regarding her, Fang Lin felt some complicated feelings. He said that he loved her before, but why does he feel as if he became more distant with her now? It was like he lost some attraction to her after he met Xue’er.

“Does that mean what I felt for Tang Ya was fake? ... I guess I can only know once I meet her personally again.”

One of his companions then expressed their doubt with Fang Lin’s decision on going on the Solstice Kingdom.

“Solstice Kingdom? That’s a little far from here. Why should we go there?” Bloodspear had already regained his composure from earlier. With his experience as a mercenary, he knew the places in the Tian Ji Empire. “Is there something there that can stop those gray robes?”

Fang Lin nodded solemnly. “Not only stop them, we can also kill them.”

Xue’er’s eyes burned brightly as she heard that. She gripped her fists tightly as she said,

“Then let’s go there and show them our wrath!”

Her tails quivered as she stated this. Fang Lin could not help but get drawn to her cute, puffy tail.

He went behind her and grabbed one of her tails. He started caressing it, taking care to not touch the tip.

“Ah Fang Lin! Not here!” Xue’er was embarrassed upon seeing Fang Lin playing with her tail in front of Mina and Bloodspear. She shivered, feeling slight pleasure as Fang Lin rubbed her fur vigorously. She suppressed these slight pleasures as she slithered her tails out of his evil grasp.

She scooted behind Mina, flattening her tails as flat as possible. Mina could only glare at Fang Lin as she stood protectively in front of Xue’er. Bloodspear could only say,

“Ugh! Stop doing that stuff on Xue’er! She’s still distressed, and you do that to her? Are you really a gentleman? As her husband, you must comfort her!”

“But that’s the way I comfort her.” This was Fang Lin’s sheepish reply. “You can ask Xue’er herself.”

“...” Xue’er could only lower her head shyly as she gave no comment.

“....”

“...”

“Well,” Fang Lin clapped his hands to disperse the awkward atmosphere. “We must of think of a back-up clan against the punishers.”

“What do you mean?”

Fang Lin gave an apologetic look to Xue’er as he said, “It’s not like I am underestimating pops, but there is a chance that the punishers can reach us before we arrive at the Solstice Kingdom.”

Xue’er could only smile sadly upon hearing that. Fang Lin steeled his heart to be not affected by her sadness. He gritted his teeth as he continued.

“As such, we need to have something that we can use to slow them down if they do reach us. As for what it is, I do not know yet. That is why we need to cooperate!”

“Well, we need to think fast now.” Bloodspear and Mina then murmured things like talisman and possible formations to slow them down.

Suddenly, Fang Lin felt the stone fragment within his storage lighting up. He then put his divine sense inside it, and he could not help but curse quietly.

“S**t! I forgot about that fragment holder!” Due to the tense situation, Fang Lin forgot about the matter about the Pan Gu Divine Tablet. If he can sense the other fragment holders, they can also sense him!

Right now, that fragment holder was rushing towards Fang Lin’s location. He can sense from the speed that the fragment holder was riding a spirit ship.

A few minutes passed by, and a spirit ship stopped in front of them. Upon seeing the spirit ship, Fang Lin could not help but think,

“This ship looks awfully similar to Fang Xiushang’s!” Before he started suspecting that he was hallucinating, the door of the spirit ship opened, and there he saw Fang Xiushang.

He was armed with swords around him. They revolved around him, filled with intense killing intent. To Fang Lin’s surprise, his aura was brimming with the power of the Foundation Establishment Stage! It seems like he used his loss as a way to temper himself.

Fang Xiushang had a domineering expression as he said,

“I do not know who you are, but you might know me. You know what I want. Give me the fragment, and I might leave you alive.”

“.....”

“What? Are you scared? Come fight me!” Fang Lin ignored Fang Xiushang’s taunts as gears began to turn in his mind. His eyes lit up as an evil smile appeared on his face. Xue’er and Mina slightly shivered upon seeing this expression. Fang Lin then turned to his companions as he excitedly said,

“Stop your planning now! We have the perfect way to stop those punishers from going near us!”
