Chapter 184: Claire and Alex meet again, at the hospital
Chapter - 184
"Wake up, sleepy head," Alex was sleeping peacefully, dreaming about the beach and the beautiful calm sea, when suddenly the sea turned violent, and a huge wave came towards him.
"Aahh..." Alex woke up with a jolt and sat straight. He was drenched in water all over. And in front of him, Damien laughed like crazy with a bucket in his hand.
"Fuck you, man..." Alex cursed as he brushed his hands through his wet hair, "It was such a nice dream."
It was only the second day since his return, and Alex wanted to have that long-awaited stress-free nap. But how could Damien let that happen? He waited for a while, but as soon as the clock hit nine, Damien knew he had to do something. Damien walked into Alex's room to wake up Alex. But when he saw Alex sleeping so peacefully, a devious idea struck him.
And next, it was Damien, Alex and a bucket full of water.
"How long are you going to sleep?" Damien was not at all apologetic. Instead, he even jumped on Alex and hugged him, not caring if he got wet.
"Mom and dad have already left for work. Now, it's only you and me. Let's go play some games," Damien suggested, "You know how much I missed my gaming console?"
"Uhmm... Dad?" Alex asked with his eyes still half closed, "Did he come home last night?"
"Yeah, he did... Well, you were already asleep, so he did not wake you up," Damien told Alex, "But enough of that... Hurry up, I have already waited long enough to kick your ass in FIFA. I don't want to wait any longer," Damien tried to act all cute.
"Fine... Fine... Just let me freshen up first," Alex said, and pushed Damien off him, "Connect everything. I will be down in ten," giving instructions to Damien, Alex entered the bathroom.
"Hurry up... I won't wait a moment longer than ten minutes," Damien said as he banged the bathroom a couple of times before he made his way down.
"And everyone calls me childish and impatient," Alex shook his head inside.

"I can't do it anymore," Damien whined, throwing away his controller in his hand, "How come you are so good now? I have been gone for a little more than half a year," Damien looked at Alex with a complaining gaze.
Alex and Damien spent their morning as well as the whole of the afternoon playing games. As for lunch, Martha did make some for them, but Damien wanted to eat something unhealthy. So they ordered some burgers, fries and pizza. Beer was already in the fridge, and they were all set for a fun time.
"What? Had your fill?" Alex grabbed a slice of pizza and straightened his back, "You surely have gotten rusty."
"It's not that I am giving up or anything," Damien said, "Mom asked me to take you to meet Aunt Rachel. It's already four. We need to be there by five," Damien said as he stood up and stretched his body.
"How come mom didn't tell me?" Alex asked.
"Well, it's a surprise," Damien looked at Alex and smiled mysteriously.
"Really?"
"Of course," Damien nodded, "Not... It's your appointment with Aunt Rachel."
"I am going to change. You should clean up this mess and get ready as well," Damien crossed Alex with a jump as he hurriedly made his way upstairs, "I need to look my best... There will be so many beautiful girls there... It's best if I could hook up with one of them tonight," And imagining the numerous encounters, Damien left Alex to clean the room.

"Just park anywhere, dude... We won't be in there for long anyway," Alex grumbled. Damien has been circling around for the perfect spot for the last ten minutes. And everytime he was about to get one, someone else would park their vehicle before him.
"I can't just park anywhere... I don't want to park my baby in the sun," Damien replied.
"The sun is about to set, genius," Alex said. It was exhausting for him, "You know what? Just drop me here, and you circle around the parking till I come back," Alex said and pulled the hand brakes.
"Hey, wait... Don't just jump out of the car like that," Damien wanted to stop Alex, but before he could, Alex was already out of the car. He did not even look behind, turning a deaf ear to Damien, who was calling for him.
Damien thought Alex was angry with his dilly-dallying, but it was only half true. In fact, Alex saw a familiar face and wanted to hurry up and say Hello.
"Hey!" Alex called out as he ran towards the lady in front of him, "Miss Claire... Oh, sorry. Doctor Claire."
Hearing someone call for her, the lady turned around to look. And it was indeed Claire, the doctor who treated Alex not once but twice. The first time was after Alex got into a fight with some ruffians when he was out on dinner with Susan, and the second time was when he got injured trying to save her daughter, Annie.
"Alex?" when Claire saw Alex behind her, she was pleasantly surprised. How long has it been since she last saw him?
"... What are you doing here?" Claire asked, "Don't tell me you got hurt again," Claire said and looked up and down Alex's body but found nothing that suggested that.
"Ohh... No... No... There is nothing like that," Alex denied waving his hands, "I am just visiting a friend. But why are you here? Is Annie alright?" Alex asked.
It was odd that just because they met in front of the hospital, both of them were worried about one another.
"Hahaha... She is alright... It's just that I have been transferred here," Claire said as she found it funny, "It has been a little more than a month since I started working here."
"Nice... I am guessing this is some sort of promotion," Alex smiled, "If you need anything in here, just let me know... If it's this hospital, I can arrange for anything," Alex almost thumped his chest in confidence. Hearing him, Claire just smiled and said nothing more.
"... How's Annie?" Alex suddenly changed the subject, "I miss her sometimes. I wanted to visit her, but the last few months have been just too hectic for me," Alex said.
"She is good... In fact, she has been bugging me to meet you for so long," Claire smiled, "But I didn't have your contact... so..."
"Now that you mention it, we never exchanged contacts," Alex nodded, "But you could have gotten that from the hospital. I am sure my colleague must have written that down somewhere."
"It didn't feel right to search through your records for my personal use..." Claire looked a bit embarrassed when she said that.
"You are really uptight, you know. Even more than me," Alex shook his head, "What if we haven't met today? How were you going to contact me?"
"I don't know... Maybe it was all for this fated encounter," Claire tucked her hair behind her ears and replied.
"I thought you people of science didn't believe in such stuff. But I kind of like the tone of it, "Alex looked at Claire with tender gaze, " A fated encounter indeed."
"... So, are you going in or coming out?" Alex asked.
"Oh... I am going home," Claire said, "I had already spent two days straight at the hospital. I couldn't even wash my hair, and they stink. Now I desperately need a nice relaxing hot bath."
"You left Annie alone for two days?" Alex frowned.
"Do you think I would?" Claire shook her head, "Actually, she is at my friend's for the time being. I will pick her up on my way home."
"Oh... Figured," Alex nodded, "So, want to exchange numbers now?" Alex pulled out his phone and asked.
"Definitely..." Claire nodded and pulled out her phone as well. And just as they were done, Damien showed up.
"Look at you... you sneaky old bas..." Damien almost cursed when he saw Alex with a beautiful woman, "Why did you leave me behind, o brother of mine? I was worried for you. And who's this pretty lady you got here? Won't you introduce me to the noble lady? She isn't your girlfriend, is she?" Damien asked while his eyes scanned Claire.
"Don't be rude..." Alex smacked Damien right at the back of his head, "She is Doctor Claire... She helped me a couple of times before, and we just bumped into each other today."
"And he is my brother. That is enough for his introduction," Alex told Claire.
"How rude of you, o brother of mine. Hello there Doc... This knight in shining armour is Damien. Don't take my words to heart. I was only joking earlier... Not that you are not pretty...
You're dope... I meant that girlfriend bit..." Damien laughed, and his words made Claire smile.
"You have a funny brother," Claire said, "But I need to get going now... I will meet you guys later."
"Yeah, sure..." Alex nodded, and Claire bid her farewell.
"Hopefully not in the hospital," Damien instead shouted from behind... "Let's meet over some drinks instead." And this got him a thumbs up from Claire, who didn't look behind as she made her way.
"Tell me more about where you got hold of that chic..." Just as Damien turned around to look at Alex, he found that his brother had already left him standing alone.
"No... No... No... You are not slipping away from this. I want to hear every single damn detail..."
