The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1336 It's Not A Compliment

Coming here was the right decision.

Rex contemplated along the way, whether there were other means—to gather more numbers for his empire, the much-needed number to protect his territory from the threat of the beasts that were favored by the world.

He feared that the Werewolves alone might not be enough.

Pulling the Vampires to his side was another option but their conditions are unknown.

Other than the mutated animals, there might also be other elders awakening in their ranks.

One that might replace Elder Nolacula as the King of Vampires.

In his empire, only a few were able to match the mutated animals' newfound strength.

Much less match the top dogs of the Second Breath, the Order Beasts.

It would be too overwhelming if multiple attacks happened at the same time.

For that, he needed more numbers.

Now that he came to meet with the Werewolves himself, his worries were thwarted away.

Even though he didn't want to admit it, he underestimated the Alpha Primes.

Mavok and the two Alpha Primes were already this strong, matching him in strength, though he was only using moonlight energy to fight them. Despite the high chance that these Alpha Primes were the cream of the crop, matching his raw strength was still a considerable feat.

One that Rex didn't overlook.

"What is your name?"

"Mavok of the Teinar Family, Alpha of the Ironclaw Pack"

"Teinar Family...?"

"Yes, the Teinar Family. Does Your Highness perhaps know my family?"

Rex was completely stunned, he didn't expect that Mavok came from that family.

It was Ruston's family.

Realizing this, he shook his head, the world felt really small at this very moment.

"I'm familiar with one from your family, someone that goes by the name Ruston"

"Ruston? Oh! Ruston, right, he's my nephew. I heard he died serving the new Dark Prince"

"Yes, he did."

"How did Your Highness cross Ruston? Is it on a battle?"

"No, not really..."

Seeing the odd reaction, Mavok felt slightly uneasy, he couldn't read Rex's expression.

But he was sure that there was a history between Rex and Ruston.

"I hope Ruston didn't cause any trouble," He said sheepishly.

Upon hearing this, Rex cackled, Mavok would have his soul left his body if he had known that Ruston, was the one who killed Rex's biological parents. It was a tragedy in the past, Rex was already through that phase.

A river of blood already flowed from that tragedy, there was no need to shed more.

"Valkis of the Braxton Family, Alpha of the Purple Light Pack"

"Fenrik of the Thorne Family, Alpha of the Howling Terra Pack"

Rex glanced to the side, seeing the other two Alpha Primes on their knees, Valkis and Fenrik.

Just like Mavok, both of them are excellent Werewolves.

"Come," Rex said, resuming his walk towards Prince Alaric in the distance.

He came here for two things only and meeting Prince Alaric was the first one on the list.

Prince Alaric got down from his mount and faced Rex before slightly bowing his body.

"I'm not expecting you to come unannounced, Prince Rex"

"Is it a bad time for me to come?"

"Frankly speaking, yes. Coming here is also a bad thing, there are other Alpha Primes who were not on your side and would react with hostility, if they knew you came into their own territory like this"

"Don't worry, I made sure nobody knows I'm here except for the people on your side"

Since he had fought with Prince Alaric, Rex knew his scent.

He only needed to expose his presence to one of Prince Alaric's own to set up this meeting.

"Shall we move to another, more suitable place?"

"No need, I need to speak with you right here"

"Right here...?"

Prince Alaric surveyed the surroundings—noting the stark openness of the area. It was a true no man's land, an unclaimed stretch located between the capital city, and another city, under his rule—accessible to anyone, with no boundaries to keep the unwelcome at bay.

It was true that their senses as Werewolves are extremely sharp.

But there was no need for risks if there was another option that had lesser or no risk at all.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Knowing Prince Alaric's worry, Rex shook his head, "No need to fret, the place is secured"

Upon hearing that, Prince Alaric noted that something was moving in the area.

Like the wind, it was invisible but could be felt if one focused on it.

Rex must've prepared the place for this meeting.

"Is it about the progress?"

"Yes, I expected to hear great news from you"

Prince Alaric tried to keep his composure but a drizzle of sweat cascaded down his face.

As the time was tight, he hadn't achieved much, and that was a problem.

...

Meanwhile, twenty miles west of Dargena City.

Just like the north side of Dargena City beyond the column of mist surrounding the Humming Damned Forest, the west side also experienced a change in terrain. Kyran and Naela were on a mission to locate the Order Beasts nearby.

But doing that was harder than the two initially thought.

Currently, both of them were walking through an open obsidian field.

Everything in and around this place was made of an enhanced type of obsidian.

It was so sharp that even Kyran got cut when he tried touching an obsidian spire curiously.

A good material to create weapons but might be too fragile to use.

Kyran had been informed by Evelyn of what had happened to the city, he was worried but he was told to not come back as there was no need for him to be here—with the situation being handled rapidly.

Not much was said along the way.

Silence accompanied them closely, the air between them was still awkward.

Despite having their fate intertwined, it was still hard to make Kyran open up.

But Naela wasn't frustrated in the least, rather, she was happy.

Even though they were still awkward, there was no hostility coming from Kyran anymore.

It was true that she had fought him, about the Bevryth Family situation, and it also inflicted a lot of blowback but she didn't regret doing it one bit. Because of that incident, she could see Kyran at his worst.

Recalling that moment, the corner of Naela's mouth curled slightly into a smile.

'In a way, a burden was lifted now that I've seen him' She thought.

As she was smiling, an unpleasant thought came to mind.

'Should I tell him about what Madam Qonvale said?' She contemplated deeply—assessing if it was the right thing to do as Rex definitely didn't want her doing that. 'But Kyran cared for him deeply, he has the right to know...'

Other than her, Evelyn also knew about this.

However, she became more undecided the more she thought about this matter.

It was hard to decide, a burden that was placed on her shoulders involuntarily.

If Naela could turn back time, she wouldn't have come to Madam Qonvale's house that night.

To save her from this heavy burden, especially when her spouse was Kyran.

Just then, Naela bumped into something.

"Oww~" She rubbed her nose before realizing that it was Kyran's back.

He suddenly halted in his tracks and he seemed tense—that wasn't a good sign.

"Did you see something?"

"Look at those marbles, are they what I think they are?"

Glancing towards where Kyran was pointing, Naela approached and squatted down to check.

She scrutinized the marbles before her eyes widened, "I- I think they are!"

Rex already informed Gistella about the Order Stones, that blossomed within the dominion of the Order Beast and Gistella already informed the others through telepathy—to fill them in. It has the shape exactly as the marbles scattered on the ground before them now.

However, the size was a lot different, the Order Stones should be bigger than this.

Realizing this, Kyran's eyebrows dipped into a frown.

"If these are Order Stones then doesn't that mean..." His breath was caught in his throat.

Kyran had been traversing this field of obsidian for a day now—and he had not really sensed or even seen any mutated animals around. He, and Naela crossed a lot along the way before he reached this field so this was a little bit odd.

Now he realized that this place wasn't a normal place, it was a dominion!

Darting his eyes around, scanning the area, he realized that he was now far from the border.

It wouldn't be a stretch to say that he and Naela were at the center right now.

"Naela! To me!" He shouted, reaching out his hand.

Upon hearing this, Naela quickly stood up and reached out her hand.

But before Kyran was able to reach her, a loud crash happened.

Crash!!

A monstrous creature barged out of a massive column of obsidian—easily towered over both Naela and Kyran with a long body covered in armor scales. Kyran's eyes widened at the sight of the creature, it was a mutated lizard.

Its head was surrounded with obsidian spikes that made its head look like a sunflower.

Kyran viewed the beast with his mouth agape.

'I couldn't sense, any concentrated elemental mana, but this Order Beast, it's strong—and from the mana its body emanated... it's an Earth Order beast, or rather, an Obsidian Order Beast!'

Not wasting a single second, Kyran instantly turned into his Werewolf form and roared.

Roar!!

He attracted the mutated lizard briefly but it soon returned its focus on Naela.

'Tch! It could think, it aimed at Naela first because she's weaker'

Kyran dashed ahead, creating ice underneath his feet so that he would not get hurt, by the obsidian ground. He slid through a curving ice spike he had created and managed to reach Naela right before the mutated lizard struck.

Boom!

The swipe struck Kyran across his crossed arms, a savage swipe that sent him flying—to the other side. He looked down at his arms and found multiple fragments of obsidian piercing his arms, causing immense, stabbing pain.

But even then, he didn't regret taking that as he managed to grab Naela.

Both of them flew across the field with Kyran hugging Naella and curling his body.

Seeing multiple obsidian spikes, Naela reached out her hand to chant a spell.

"Dark Nature spell, Nature's Cushion"

Each time Kyran crashed into an obsidian spike, a dark flower cushioned the impact.

It helped him lessen the damage he received.

Due to that, Kyran was able to land on his feet perfectly, his feet dragged across the ground.

"I thought you wouldn't care and would let me take the hit, I'm flattered"

"Maybe I should've if you're going to be cheeky about it"

Kyran could tell that Naela was teasing him, he also didn't know why he did that.

Of course, it was undeniable that he became more comfortable around Naela.

'But that doesn't mean I care for her, I frankly don't care. It only seemed to be the right thing'

Seeing Kyran unwilling to admit it, Naela chuckled sweetly.

"Okay, I'll not tease you about it but this Order Beast, it must be a Knight"

"What makes you think so?"

"If those marbles are Order Stones—then this should be its dominion. And since the marbles aren't as big as the ones Shadow had, this one must be a new Knight. Shadow is nearing the Lord-rank so this is definitely a new Knight"

Upon hearing this, Kyran nodded as he took out the fragments stabbing his arms.

It must've been the case.

Naela's conclusion was logical, this mutated lizard seemed to not be as strong as Kyran had anticipated. It must've been at the very early of the tenth-rank realm or perhaps even still at the pseudo-tenth-rank realm like the mutated cat that Rex fought back then.

Considering his power, he was still weaker than the mutated lizard.

But his chances are definitely not zero.

"We identified one, let's mark the location and move to the next" Naela turned around.

Seems like the first attack was a warning attack, the mutated lizard didn't come at them.

Just then, however, she stopped mid-track and glanced over her shoulder.

"Kyran...?" She called, seeing Kyran didn't move from his spot. "We've told not to engage,"

Viewing the mutated lizard in the distance, Kyran's body trembled.

It was excitement.

"I was told to hunt by Rex. He would not be angry, if I brought him weaker mutated animals but... if I could take this down—isn't that even better? The dominion seemed to be no more than an ornament, it didn't empower that lizard"

Upon hearing this, Naela sighed as she knew that this would happen.

"Stop it, Kyran, you're starting to act like Rex" She uttered.

However, this had the opposite effect of what she had hoped for.

Kyran glanced over at her and smiled.

"Thank you for the compliment!"

"It's not a compliment though..."
