The Male Lead Suddenly Became My Lapdog after I Annulled Our Engagement

Chapter 197 - 197 Buying A Building

197 Buying A Building

After the movie ended, Jing Yan took He Miao to visit his Grandpa Jing first. The two of them were ready to tell the old man the good news and make him happy.

However, Jing Yan clearly placed more importance on this engagement than before. He wanted to give He Miao a unique engagement ceremony, and did not want to make He Miao feel aggrieved just by making a verbal promise.

Old Master Jing sat on the bed and joked, “To think that a kid like you would have such a day!”

Jing Yan’s face reddened at his words. When he caught He Miao’s gaze, he grabbed her hand nervously. “Miaomiao, don’t think too much. I’ll definitely treat you well this time.”

!!

“I know.” He Miao nodded lightly.

The three of them agreed to hold a grand engagement ceremony after Old Master Jing recovered, and Jing Yan would handle the details.

The two of them accompanied Old Master Jing for lunch before leaving the hospital. He Miao sat in the car and could not stop rubbing her cold hands. She asked as he breathed, “Where are we going now?”

“I’ll take you to a place.” Jing Yan turned the heater to its maximum and drove He Miao back to the vicinity of the company building.

“Do you have any work to do?” He Miao looked at Jing Yan, who opened the door and got out of the car, in confusion.

He walked around the front of the car, walked to her side, and opened the door for her. He took her hand, which had finally warmed up, and stuffed it into his pocket. Then, he looked at her other hand, which was exposed to the cold air, and said lightly, “You’ll have to put that hand into your pocket.”

“I know. I’m not a kid.” He Miao pouted and raised her hand with a red face, a sweet smile on her face.

Jing Yan then led her to the building next to the company and pushed the door open.

“This is it.”

He Miao looked at Jing Yan beside him in shock and asked in disbelief, “You know that I’m choosing a location for my company?”

Jing Yan rubbed her nose lovingly and said with a smile, “What can you hide from me? I’ve already bought this building, so I’m afraid you’ll have to pay me the rent in the future.”

He wished he could give her the entire building, but he knew that He Miao would not agree to it if he really said that. So, he settled for the second best option, so He Miao could not find a reason to reject him.

She took Jing Yan’s hand in surprise and examined every floor carefully. She then nodded in satisfaction. no wonder Xu Meng gave the best evaluation of this place. She has a good eye.

Jing Yan pulled her arm unhappily and held her tightly in his arms. He lowered his eyes and asked, “Why don’t you praise me?”

He Miao was amused by his expression, which was begging for praise and a pat on the head. She raised her hand and patted his head as he wished. “You’re the best. You can guess what I’m thinking. It’s hard to believe that you’re so meticulous and can think of everything for me.”

Jing Yan narrowed his eyes in satisfaction and stared at her bright eyes. He suddenly lowered his head and kissed her.

He Miao closed her eyes shyly, but after waiting for a long time, she still did not feel the warm touch on her lips. Instead, her chin was gently licked by someone, and the itch made her whole body tremble.

“What are you doing?” He Miao opened his eyes in surprise. When she saw the playful look in his eyes, she lifted his hand and pulled his ear. “Why are you learning from Onion?”

Jing Yan smiled but did not say anything. He lowered his head to her ear and whispered, “Are you disappointed?”

“Nonsense.” Who would be disappointed because he did not kiss her!

He Miao shyly avoided his hot breath, her arms pressed against his chest, and her entire body was wrapped in his arms.

“But I regret it.”

He Miao looked up in a daze. Just as she was about to ask him what he regretted, her lips were suddenly sucked hard. The hot tongue of fire entered her mouth and wantonly plundered the sweetness in her mouth.

After the kiss, Jing Yan reluctantly let go of He Miao, who was out of breath, and patted her back to help her breathe.

“You scoundrel.” He Miao punched him in the chest with a force that was neither too light nor too heavy. She laid in his arms and took in deep breaths of fresh air.

“Alright, it’s my fault,” Jing Yan patted her head affectionately, then led his men out of the building and back to He Miao’s rented apartment.

Jing Yan opened the refrigerator and prepared to cook dinner for He Miao. He rummaged through the fresh ingredients and picked out a few that needed to be used. Then, he asked, “Why don’t I see chillies? Is there no more at home?”

He did not have any need for chili himself, but He Miao liked spicy food and put some in almost every meal.

He Miao put down the onions and walked over to help rummage through the refrigerator. After making sure there was nothing left, Jing Yan immediately put on his coat and was about to go out to buy some, but he was stopped by He Miao.

“I’ll go. You stay here and cook the other dishes. I’ll be back soon.”

“Then take care of yourself. Call me if you need anything.” For such a long time, Jing Yan was still very careful with He Miao’s safety, and he had never let his guard down for even a moment.

Amused, He Miao nodded in agreement. “Don’t worry, the supermarket is just at the entrance of the neighborhood. It’s very close, so we’ll be back in a while.”
