Chapter 451 The Thoughts of A Broken Subject
[HAWI]
The sacred island was proving to be anything but sacred and Hawi was losing her shit over it all. She had tried her best to understand the things that were going on but at every twist and turn, there was more that she needed to be worried about, more that she had to take in.
The possibility that Trey was truly Hudhayfah's mate was the one thing that got her wondering what part of the world she had been brought into. On one hand, she had been born and purposefully created to eradicate the Russels.
Hell, she had been made to understand that these people were nothing good for the realm.
They were the monsters that Hawi and her people needed to work together to rid themselves of, but right now, they looked like any normal people that Hawi had interacted with over the years.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
They looked harmless. It was sort of disappointing, especially with the blood that had been spilled by them. They were the evil she needed to wipe out for the sake of the realm and she was the part of life that everyone relied on for the longest time.
Perhaps it was a long, hopeless, and somewhat insane gamble, but none of that would ever be greater than the other gamble she had been thrust into. A life that got her wondering what the fuck was happening right then.
'Life's a fucking joke,' Hawi thought to herself angrily as she watched them. She couldn't believe that all of this was real and happening when this was the part of the chaos that even she couldn't control.
Mate bonds were scared, and they had been taught that from the moment they had been born. But right now, the universe was giving her the hardest choice in her friend group and Hawi hated every little bit of it.
This wasn't what she had hoped to reign in, it wasn't the kind of happiness that she had hoped to get when the sun went down and the war was over.
As it was, perhaps this was never going to be over, because how the fuck was she supposed to fight that which was meant for the very people she had sworn to give whatever they wanted.
How was she supposed to tell Hudhayfah that she had to kill his mate and how the fuck was she even to explain to Mbali that life was a complex bitch and that she had to make the tough decisions to make sure the realm was sane rough for the everyone?
This was crazy.
'Well fuck,' Hawi cursed as she watched how Trey was staring at his sister and his brother in the cage. You would think that this was what their heaven looked like, but there wasn't a heaven here.
There was only one person with friends who she had hoped to see their mates, and also friends she had to make the hardest life's choice for at the moment. Happiness was truly the one thing she couldn't have.
Her friends, her dear trusted team were somehow getting bound to the Russels one by one and it was fate's doing. This in itself was something that even she couldn't change because there was never a person who had tried to challenge their own.
What was she supposed to do with them then? Was she to sit and kill the Russels at the expense of her friend's happiness? Was she supposed to find a way to balance the real now that these people somehow happened to be a part of her favorite people's lives?
"Come again?" Hawi asked as she looked at the warlock she had known for the longest time.
Of course, it had been made known that the Russels were good manipulators, over the years, but Sebastian Russel had been too good a person to seem to orchestrate the madness. Then again, the Russels siblings looked like normal people on a first glance.
They all seemed young, and looked like they were in their late twenties when in reality they had iced longer than time. They were handsome and beautiful, not to mention they were as normal as anyone could get.
They looked like they woke up in the morning to work their assess off for their future, and not like they had been trained from birth to carry the family tradition of fucking up the lives of the white wolves for the sake of their survival.

The fact that they had always stayed seven since time immemorial and had never lost any of their family members was also something… well, until Awuor Hawi Sicario, the greatest thorn in their lives.
"Take me, please. My siblings haven't done anything to your family, Sicario. It was all me, they just followed my guidance. I am the brains behind it all and your fight is truly with me," Sebastian insisted.
For a moment there, Hawi's heart broke for the Russel brother in the cage. She knew what it meant to be the older person, she knew what it meant to be the one who carried the family burden.
While it was obvious that they were just trained pets in their family's business, Hawi couldn't forgive and forget the fact that they had taken everything from her.
Maybe this was the dumbest decision that they had ever come with, but from her point of view, this was a desperate attempt to make things right for his siblings… Would they ever do the same for him though?
'Fuck,' Hawi sighed as she looked at the warlocks.
They were desperate to survive and she hated them for taking everything from her. She was the first person in the way of the Russels' existence, to wipe out three of the Russel siblings without breaking a drop of sweat.
Awuor Sicario had made dealing with them seem like a walk in the pack because of her anger and the disappointment of having to take on a job she hadn't ever been prepped for by anyone ever.
She had made sure that nothing was ever the same for them all and they were finally feeling the pinch of the pain they had caused many people in the realm to the point that the goddess had to create a white wolf that would end them all.
Their sins had to be a little crazy for that decision to be made and Hawi wondered what the fuck the world before her looked like.
However, as she looked at Malika who was sighing in relief, Hawi couldn't begin to imagine what the fuck had happened in their pasts that had made their present this complicated.
Was the future something that they would bring together then? Or was it something that they could only ever fantasize about in a realm that was fueled by the rage of a wolf who had nothing left to lose then?
Here in the cage worse than Razia's, Sebastian knew Hawi was determined to kill them all and she would undoubtedly succeed if their dead brothers were not even poof of the madness they lived in all.
The fact that Hawi had not even spared a little kid, the same Kurt that they hadn't even known of, went a long way to remind Sebastian of the side effects of what a broken heart looked like. This was where they had gotten and they had pushed Hawi to this point.
"Seb, no! You can't do that. We are in this, together. We killed her parents and her brother together, we will take the heart of everything like we always do, together," Amina said and Sebastian looked at his sister, his eyes softening as he ran a hand down her hair.
Even to this point, even when this was a cruel fate for them, Amina was still choosing family over everything else. She had been with them for years and she had known them better than anyone ever would.
Sebastian looked at his brothers who were out of the cage, in the rain that was not stopping, a rain that was the result of their chaos. They had pushed Hawi to this point and there was no other way for them.
"Amina is right. This is our duty to the realm, to make sure everything is as it was. Our parents would be so disappointed if we gave up like this. Think of Razia, Atticus and even Nick who died along the way because of Hawi.
"If we give up then their lives would have been for nothing. We must see this through, Seb. We're dead anyway, so we might as well take the chaos to the highest notch, don't you think?
"We can't let our siblings' lives be gone like that. Seven go in, seven come out, remember? If we are to die, then we all die. Especially now that the three of us are already dead. Whatever fate it is, we have to face it together, so chin up and let's fight.
"If we are to go down, then at least we'll go down knowing we gave our best in the fight against the craziest bitch the universe ever created," Trey said earnestly. He knew this wasn't the best of things for them, but what else could he do?
This was his family.
Granted, he hated the fact that he was just knowing his mate like this, but the universe was playing games with them and they had to fight back. They had to survive and make sure they made it to the end of the battle.
No matter what happened along the way, they had to keep holding on.
"Trey is right too, Seb. If we go down, we go down together. Besides, we are the enemies of the realm. No one will ever truly love us. Our mates will forever look at us differently…"
What do you think?
