The Supreme Level Up System

Chapter 264 Confirmation

Aion prepared to swing his spear again. Usually, golems would have a core that would kill them once they suffered enough damage. Still, before Aion could do that, the enemy suddenly became four meters tall instead of six. Still, at the cost of that, the arms of the monster were regenerated.

"That is a neat trick," Aion thought while smiling.

The enemy suddenly began to spring to keep Aion away, and thanks to that, the heat started to spread as well. The enemy also began to approach Aion like a top… attacking any point would be quite hard now… Still, Aion just used more mana to cover his spear and then used Triple Sonic Thrust.

The impacts caused shockwaves of heat that made even Sauros and Seris flinch when they were fifty meters away. They hated to admit that, but they couldn't get any closer, and their current weapon was essentially useless against that monster…

Seris clenched her teeth in annoyance… she didn't expect that they would find an inorganic enemy with such an attribute inside the tower… still, she relaxed a bit when she saw pieces of the monster falling apart thanks to Aion's combination of magic and spear skills… the monster began to shrink again quickly. Still, Aion felt that he was wasting too much mana and stamina.

Eventually, Aion took a step backward and then charged with all his might hitting the chest of the monster. He also felt that he had hit something hard on the chest, and in the next moment, he felt something ominous, like a pulsation.

Aion quickly jumped back, and then the golem exploded… a powerful heat of wave reached the whole room, and even Sauros and Seris had a hard time breathing thanks to it. A moment later, Aion landed in front of them with his body emitting a lot of steam.

You obtained 20.000 experience points.

"The son of a bitch autodestructed when I finally found the core…" Aion said. "What a shitty monster…"

"Are you all right?" Sauros asked. "It seems that you only got hit by the shockwave, but you were pretty close…"

"I am fine. I just need to cool down a bit," Aion said and then created some cold water to help with the heat.

"Seris, please," Sauros said.

After a long sigh, Seris used her power and helped Aion recover his energy faster. Thanks to that, his body returned to normal pretty soon… in any case, that enemy showed up at a pretty annoying time. If Aion were able to use Power Throw, such a thing wouldn't have happened… probably.

"The next few floors probably won't be as bad as this one until the twentieth," Sauros said. "Still, we ended up using more mana than expected, so we should rest properly for a while as well. For the time being, we will rest for ten minutes between ordinary battles and half an hour between the most difficult ones."

This time, Sauros wasn't asking for their opinions, so he believed that was something that they had to do no matter what to avoid problems. Again, it was a pain in the ass, and Aion was fine with getting punished like that in order to become stronger faster, but he decided not to voice his protests this time. That was the last part of the mission, so he might as well be a team player until the end.

"I don't want to rely on mana, but I guess I should for the time being… until I obtain full control over Power Throw," Aion thought. "My fighting style is clear now, so I don't have to waste time fighting those things forever… Besides, as long as I kill them in a single instant, I can recover the mana before the next battle."

Once he decided that, Aion felt that a load left his shoulders. Being stubborn to help him improve faster was fine and all, but sometimes, one has to compromise.

With that in mind, Aion decided to confirm that he had made the right decision. He enveloped most of his spear in ice when they were heading to the next floor, while he also used some of his stamina to enhance the spear.

When they reached the next floor, and the opponent appeared. Aion threw the spear with all his might, and while controlling the ice around the weapon in that fraction of a second, he made it spin with all his might…

The weapon flew while making a high-pitched sound that forced everyone to close their ears before hitting the enemy instantly and making its body split into several parts… the enemy didn't have the chance to defend itself. The spear bit the wall of the dungeon and, upon impact, made the whole floor tremble… but then the spear broke.

"... Are you going to be alright without that?" Sauros asked after several moments of silence due to the surprise.

"No problem, I can use it again soon," Aion replied.

It has been a while since one of Aion's weapons broke, but the spear will return to normal in one hour or so. Still, he never broke it by attacking… that combination had been far more powerful than he had expected since it combined the power of his magic and strength, and because he didn't hold back… he needed to know the minimum amount of mana necessary to use for each opponent, after all.

"Nevertheless, this confirmed a lot of things…" Aion smirked. "I will be able to defeat them by myself for quite a while…"

The next few floors had been pretty easy. Even while on the twentieth floor, Aion didn't defeat the enemy in a single strike. At least it pushed them against the wall for several seconds…

After facing an iron golem on the 20th, a giant bat on the 25th, and a carnivorous plant on the thirty floors, Sauros decided to call a break for the whole group to stop for several hours.
