Chapter 102 - 102 If Given Another Chance, She Would Definitely Play Her Cards Well
102 If Given Another Chance, She Would Definitely Play Her Cards Well
Li Zekai and Auntie Huang looked into the courtyard through the gap in the door. They clapped their hands happily.
“Madam is so amazing!” Auntie Huang was smiling.
“Auntie Lin is calm and soft but her words are always very lethal.”
“Young master, Didn’t I tell you not to listen to this? Go over there.” Auntie Huang lowered her head and saw Li Zekai crouching on the ground.
!!
“Shh.” Li Zekai hushed her while pointing at his smart watch which was still recording.
Auntie Huang covered the young master’s ears in realization. ‘So, the young master is recording evidence.’
In the courtyard, Du Xing’s face turned pale. When she had seen Lin Wan in the livestream, she had never replied to the criticisms directed toward her. ‘Isn’t Lin Wan supposed to be weak and submissive?’
“I would like you to stop throwing Li Yanchen’s name around. Your brother-in-law has already blocked your number. He wishes to be left alone. Also, if it was me, I wouldn’t be talking about other people’s young bodies, when you… look like that.”
Du Xing was speechless. Lin Wan didn’t stay to hear her response. She turned around and walked toward the house.
If not for her old age, Auntie Huang would have jumped and cheered for her.
Seeing that Lin Wan was walking back to the house, Li Zekai ran back to the sofa in the living room.
When Du Xing came back to her senses, she felt that she had lost this verbal battle. If given another chance, she would definitely play her cards well. She had already thought of a way to teach Lin Wan a lesson. Thus, Du Xing pressed the Villa’s doorbell again, unwilling to leave. Auntie Huang immediately pulled the plug.
The woman’s hands had turned red from pressing. She could only sit back down in the courtyard. She did not believe that this family would stay at home all day. Even if they did, Li Yanchen would eventually arrive.
In the living room, Lin Wan opened a bag of potato chips and munched on one. Li Zekai sat beside her and unconsciously reached for one. The TV was playing a cartoon.
From time to time, Auntie Huang lifted the curtains to check outside. When she saw Du Xing still in the courtyard, she closed the curtains again.
“Auntie, stop looking at her. Let’s eat.” Lin Wan said to the uneasy Auntie Huang.
“Oh… ah, yes, Madam,” said Auntie Huang. “Sir will be arriving in the afternoon, right? I will make some steamed rice and veggies.” Auntie Huang hurriedly went to the kitchen.
Li Zekai was watching “Douluo Continent”. Lin Wan felt bored but when she got up to go back upstairs, Li Zekai pulled her down on the sofa and insisted that she watch the series with him. Lin Wan leaned back on the sofa and stared at the TV. The little boy talked to her nonstop, sometimes about Tang San and other times about the awards he won. The child chattered away and Lin Wan got lazier and lazier.
Finally, when Li Zekai was explaining about the Blue Silver Emperor’s spirit abilities to her, she couldn’t take it anymore. She stood up helplessly.
“Auntie, are you bored? It gets interesting after a few episodes.” Li Zekai was trying to persuade her to stay.
“I’m going to the washroom.” Lin Wan made up an excuse.
When she entered the bathroom, Lin Wan looked at the mirror. “Lin Wan, how in the world did you end up watching boring TV with the little kid?” she muttered to herself.
After sitting in the bathroom for half an hour, Lin Wan finally found an opening to run back to her room.
Li Zekai was so engrossed in watching the series that he forgot about Lin Wan.
At ten in the morning, Du Xing rang the doorbell once more, but there was still no response. The rain fell heavier, and she was a little regretful of her approach. If she had known earlier, she would have checked out around noon. She had asked Sister Chen Xinli and confirmed that Li Yanchen had booked a flight back to Yun City in the morning and would be arriving around noon. If she stayed here, she would at least be able to meet him.
There was no medicine for regret in this world. Since this was the case, she might as well go all out. Du Xing kicked the umbrella to the side and walked out of the long corridor, exposing himself to the rain.
When the plane landed, Li Yanchen passed his briefcase to Secretary Han. “Please take this back to the office. I will be there later.”
“Boss, aren’t you going to the office directly?” Secretary Han took the briefcase containing the official seal and the contract.
“I left a document at home. I have to go and get it. I will get Assistant Qin to drive me back to the office.” Li Yanchen made up an excuse.
“Oh… okay.” Secretary Han took a deep breath. Just now in the departure hall, he had heard his boss sending a voice message saying he would be home for lunch. He had not mentioned anything about a document at all.
Assistant Qin had been waiting at the airport for a long time, so he didn’t know about the incident at the Royal Water Bay.
When they came out of the airport, Li Yanchen walked in front, while Secretary Han followed closely behind with the briefcase.
“Boss, I will take the car and get going then. Meet you later at the office.” Secretary Han went straight to the parking lot.
As they walked out of the revolving door, Assistant Qin waved at them from afar.
Li Yanchen walked to assistant Qin with both his hands in his pockets.
“Mr. Li, are we heading to the Royal Water Bay Villa directly?” asked Assistant Qin, with a bright smile.
“Yes. I think I will have lunch while I am there since it’s already lunch time.” Li Yanchen looked at his wristwatch. His thoughts were far from lunch, though.
The aroma wafting out of the kitchen was delicious. Du Xing sneezed as he clutched at her rumbling stomach. At one point, she wanted to give up. However, she had already been drenched and suffered humiliation. So, she might as well tough it out and face Li Yanchen. She sat back on the bench and waited.
Through the window, Auntie Huang saw Du Xing still in the courtyard.
“Madam, Ms. Du is still here, and sir will be arriving soon.” Auntie Huang had not expected Lin Wan to be so calm.
“It’s good that he will be arriving soon. It’s better for him to intervene in this matter than me.” Lin Wan sat at the dining table.
Assistant Qin’s car honked at the entrance of the courtyard. Hearing the sound, Du Xing knew that her savior had arrived. She dragged herself towards the main gate.
When she saw Li Yanchen, she wanted to jump to his side. However, Assistant Qin stood in front of him.
Assistant Qin did not recognize the woman before him. He raised his head and looked at Li Yanchen.
“Brother-in-law, you’re finally back! If you hadn’t come, I would have died here.” Du Xing’s tears streamed down her face.
Li Yanchen had not expected Du Xing to come back here. He walked away from her.
“Brother-in-law, my sister’s spirit in heaven won’t feel at ease seeing me like this. I’ve been drenched for half a day, but your new wife won’t even let me in.” Du Xing complained with tears and snot running down her face.
“The corridor is so wide and well-covered. How did you get wet?” Assistant Qin interjected.
“Who are you? Why are you even talking to me?” She turned back to Li Yanchen. “Brother-in-law, my clothes are all wet. Achoo!” Du Xing sneezed and Li Yanchen used the umbrella to cover his face.
“Assistant Qin, ring the doorbell,” Li Yanchen said as he looked at the shut door.
Assistant Qin rang the doorbell a few times, but there was no response. However, he could see smoke coming out of the kitchen. He guessed that the
He called Lin Wan. “Madam. We are the door. Mr. Li is here, too. We pressed the doorbell, but there was no response.”
Lin Wan opened the door.
Li Yanchen walked in. Thinking that Li Yanchen will surely let her into the house, Du Xing grabbed her luggage and followed. However, Li Yanchen stopped her from entering.
...
“Auntie Huang, do you have any clothes that you don’t need?” he asked. “I will pay you for them. Can you lend it to her?” He turned to Assistant Qin. “Assistant Qin, please ask Ms. Du her destination and book a ticket for her. I cannot let anyone in the house that Wanwan doesn’t approve of.” Li Yanchen looked at Lin Wan as he spoke.
