Transmigrating as an Extra Third-Rate Villain

Chapter 310The Underground [5]

*Third Person Point of View*

Then, without any hesitation, Ruby stamped her foot downwards on the ground, causing the ceiling to shake once again.

A small hole formed under Ruby's foot, allowing the two of them to see downwards and into the underground space.

However...that hole was growing with every passing second.

A second ago, the hole was the size of Ruby's shoes, but now it had grown into a massive circle that was large enough for his entire body to fall through.

Seeing the expanding hole, Ruby immediately jumped backward to avoid falling through the ceiling and gestured for me to follow.

Having already activated the usage period of the dash when he felt the floor crumble, Ren simply used the dash, appearing ten meters behind the hole.

Not shocked at all, or perhaps not caring, Ruby simply stared as Ren appeared in front of her before finally answering his question.

"The intruder was here...in this exact place we're in right now."

Answering Ren's confused and distraught expression, Ruby pointed at the crumbling floor below us before saying.

"When exactly did you make this hole in the ceiling?"

Not even questioning as to how she knew he was the creator of this hole the ceiling, Ren hastily replied.

"Mid-way into the battle-ish...I believe. A little bit before I collapsed the door and opened the entrance up to the vault."

Clasping her hands together, Ruby walked away from the hole in the floor that had formed due to her stomping before replying.

"Did you see anyone else up here...before you? And was the space like this when you arrived?"

"...?"

Racking his brain, Ren attempted to recall what he had seen earlier when he had climbed into the hole in the ceiling for the first time.

And as he recalled the scenery of the hole in the ceiling, a sudden figure came to mind.

"A djinn...?"

Hearing the mutter come out of Ren's mouth, Ruby immediately tensed, whether it was out of anticipation or fear was unknown to Ren, and quickly asked.

"Who? When? Where?"

Raising his hands, Ren ignored Ruby's bombardment of questions, trying to remember what exactly had happened.

As the scenery became clear in his mind, Ren coughed awkwardly, ashamed that he had managed to forget the scenery even with his enhanced eyesight, before finally saying.

"When I got here...it was the same as it is now. No protruding rocks or any rumble were lying around. It was just like this. The walls were groomed alongside the floor and beside the hole I made with my... power; everything else was... clean."

Seeing Ruby beckon him to continue, Ren took a deep breath before responding.

"After I got here, I spotted a djinn hanging from the ceiling and trying to climb up."

"..."

"..."

"So...this wasn't something you thought to mention?"

Turning his head to face downward at the floor, Ren sighed before explaining.

"Look, there was a lot on my mind. How the hell was I supposed to know some mythical creature, capable of wiping out millions of people in mere minutes, was in that damn vault!"

"I remember when this robbery was just about me getting my hands on some nice magical artifacts for a boost!"

"When the hell did it turn into saving the capital city and academy from some vengeful beast!?"

"I WAS SUPPOSED TO ROB THIS VAULT, NOT FUCKING PROTECT IT! I'M A VILLAIN, NOT A HERO!"

"..."

Not showing any reactions whatsoever to Ren's sudden outburst, Ruby simply shrugged her shoulders, waved her hands around, and sarcastically said,

"Oh, poor you! You couldn't commit your crime today! Hmm...just think of this as your one good act for the day!"

Unable to contain his anger at Ruby's mocking words, Ren looked upwards from the ground, his eyes shining blood-red as he made eye contact with Ruby's similarly colored eyes...

"...REAL RICH COMING FROM YOU, YOU DAMN VILLAIN GROUP LEADER!"

Once again, Ruby disregarded Ren's fit, simply treating him as a child who was having a tantrum.

Walking towards Ren, Ruby patted him on the shoulder before saying in a joking voice.

"Are you done now? Can we go back to saving the world?"

Nodding his head, Ren quietly muttered.

"Two villains saving the world...what kind of fucked up time are we living in!?"

Taking in one last deep breath to calm his nerves, Ren glanced around at the cave before turning back to Ruby.

"My purple orb couldn't have made this. It's too clean and too perfect."

Putting her hand under her chin, Ruby thought for a moment before replying.

"So you're saying tha-"

Finishing Ruby's sentence, Ren interrupted.

"Something...or someone else made it."

Pacing around the cave while thinking, Ruby glanced downward through the hole and into the underground space before responding.

"And coincidentally, you just so happened to meet a djinn here."

Pausing, Ren considered the possibility of the djinn being the intruder before pausing and asking.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"But, he was here after me?"

Leaning downwards right next to the hole, Ruby replied.

"What if he happened to be in the line of range of your attack? He was in this space before, but when you attacked, he fell down because your attack destroyed the floor below him."

"Then, after you climbed up and entered the hole, he followed behind you, making it seem like you were the first person up here."

Walking up next to Ruby, Ren stared at her glossy-black hair for a second before saying.

"Can a djinn be that... intelligent?"

Recalling the odd conversation he had with the djinn back and the "djinn-to-human machine," Ren hesitated before admitting.

"When I talked to him...he seemed as dull as every other djinn. I didn't notice anything special or particular about him."

Shrugging her shoulders, Ruby quickly nullified his point.

"What if he was acting? Using the stereotype of djinns being stupid against you."

"He fits the criteria for the intruder as well, doesn't he?"
