Chapter 226 Results Day (2)
A few scattered claps broke out before the headmaster raised a hand to pause them. "Now, now, save the applause for yourselves when you see those results."
Laughter rippled through the crowd. A student, standing near the back, leaned over to his friend. "He's hyping it up like we all didn't cram the nights before our exams."
Lily, next to Noah, smiled softly but focused on the headmaster, her arms crossed. Emily, clutching Noah's hand, whispered, "He's kind of funny, isn't he?"

The headmaster's tone turned slightly more serious. "But let me remind you, these results, as important as they may feel right now, do not define who you are. Your worth is not measured by a number on a sheet of paper. What truly matters is what you do next—how you use what you've learned here to shape your future and make a positive impact on the world."
A murmur of agreement spread through the room. A student near the front muttered, "I needed to hear that," while another rolled their eyes. "Easy for him to say. He's not the one waiting for results. Nor is his dad waiting for him to return with good news, otherwise..."
"Today," the headmaster went on, "we also celebrate the relationships you've built—friendships, mentorships, and the memories you'll carry with you. Remember, these bonds are just as important as any academic achievement."
Lily glanced at Noah and smiled. "That's true, you know."
Noah raised an eyebrow but didn't respond, his expression calm as always.
The headmaster adjusted his glasses and finished with a firm note. "As you step out into the world, I encourage you to aim high. Dream big. Don't be afraid to take risks and fail because failure is often the first step to greatness. Each of you has potential beyond what you realize, and I, along with your teachers, have no doubt that you'll achieve remarkable things."
The students erupted into applause, some more enthusiastic than others. Aiden whistled loudly, earning a glare from a teacher near the podium. "Good speech," he said, nudging his friend.
The headmaster held up his hands to quiet the room again. "With that, I wish you all the very best. Now, let's get to the moment you've all been waiting for—your results. Teachers will begin handing them out shortly."
As he stepped off the podium, the energy in the room shifted. Nervous chatter and excited whispers filled the air as students began craning their necks, looking for their teachers.
"Here we go," Lily said, exhaling sharply.
Emily gripped Noah's hand tighter. "Do you think you'll be the top, brother?"
"I know I will," Noah replied, his calm confidence sparking admiration—and a touch of envy—from those who overheard.
As Noah, Lily, and the other students waited for their results to be distributed, the atmosphere in the hall grew electric. Whispers and nervous laughter filled the air, mingling with the clicking of cameras as journalists began to enter into the room. A broadcast crew set up near the entrance, their large camera lenses sweeping over the eager students.
Noah barely paid them any mind, his calm demeanour standing in stark contrast to the fidgeting students around him.
Lily, however, glanced at the cameras nervously. "Why are they even here? This isn't the Oscars."
"They're here for the drama," Noah replied, his voice steady. "And maybe a few success stories."
At that moment, Ms. Elara approached, a stack of result envelopes in her hands. She stopped in front of Noah, her gaze softening as she handed him his envelope.
"How are you feeling about the results, Noah?" she asked, her tone kind yet tinged with curiosity. "Are you confident?"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Noah met her gaze and nodded, his expression as composed as ever. "I know I did well."
Elara smiled faintly, though her eyes flickered briefly to someone standing further away—Layla.
The memory of the recent scandal between Noah and Layla's mother lingered in her mind. She wanted to ask Noah about it, to hear his side, but the moment didn't feel right. Instead, she simply said, "Good luck, Noah," and stepped aside.
Noah glanced at the envelope in his hands for a moment before tearing it open with deliberate calm. He unfolded the paper inside and scanned the results.

The same layout repeated itself across all the subjects that Noah had taken. He had gotten the perfect score in every single subject.
Emily, who had been craning her neck to peek, suddenly let out an excited shriek. "Oh my god! You got a perfect score! PERFECT!"
Her exasperation drew immediate attention, and several nearby students turned their heads, startled. "Did he just say perfect score?" one whispered.
The journalists, who had been observing from a distance, caught the commotion. The lead reporter motioned to her cameraman. "Come on, let's check this out. That's the kind of joy we want to capture."
The broadcast crew hurried over, the camera operator zooming in on Noah as the reporter approached. "Excuse me," she began with a bright smile, "we couldn't help but notice the excitement here. Are you willing to share your results with us?"
Noah turned to face her, his expression unchanging. "Sure," he said simply, handing her the paper.
The reporter glanced at the paper, her smile widening as she saw the results. "Wow, a perfect score! That's incredible! Congratulations! How does it feel to have achieved this?"
Noah gave a small nod, his tone calm and measured. "It's good. I've worked hard for this."
The reporter nodded, clearly impressed, but something seemed to nag at her. "If you don't mind, could we take a look at the other subjects as well?" she asked, her curiosity evident.
"Sure," Noah said with a shrug, handing her the sheet.
Peeking in, the reporter's eyes scanned down the list. Her mouth opened slightly in disbelief as her gaze darted from one subject to the next. Each score was perfect, flawless, without a single error.
Her voice caught in her throat before she finally stammered, "Yo-You got perfect scores in all subjects!"
A ripple of murmurs broke out from the students and journalists nearby. The camera operator filming her reaction visibly shifted, leaning closer to the viewfinder as if doubting what he'd captured.
From the newsroom headquarters, the presenter's voice cut through the live broadcast. "Miss Olivia, are you saying the student in front of you achieved perfect scores across all subjects?"
The reporter, Olivia, snapped back to her senses, straightened up, and turned to face the camera. "Yes… Indeed. The student has achieved perfect scores in all subjects. This is unprecedented throughout the history of these examinations!"
The presenter in the newsroom practically shouted, "Ask for his name! What's his name?"
Olivia nodded and turned back to Noah, her tone now more formal and respectful. "Excuse me, may I ask for your name?"
Noah met her gaze calmly, his expression unchanging. "Noah. Noah Thompson."
Olivia's face lit up with recognition as murmurs erupted among the crowd of students behind her. "Noah Thompson…" she repeated, almost as if testing the name on her lips. "A name we're unlikely to forget."
From the newsroom, the presenter spoke with excitement. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are witnessing something extraordinary today. Noah Thompson has achieved a feat unmatched in the history of this institution. Perfect scores in every subject! Truly remarkable."
The camera panned briefly to the crowd of students, who were not focused on their results but on Noah's after hearing Olivia.
"Is this guy even human?" one muttered.
"I heard he owns a hotel. Did you see that car he drove in?" another whispered.
"No way. A genius billionaire, who is also overbearing. He is the man of my dreams, I can't believe I haven't noticed him before." one girl gasped, her eyes sparkling.
Meanwhile, Emily tugged at Noah's sleeve, her excitement bubbling over. "You're famous now, big brother! Everyone's talking about you!" she giggled, her small frame bouncing with energy.
Noah smiled softly and ruffled her hair. "Don't get too excited. It's just some scores."
Olivia froze, her expression shifting rapidly between curiosity, shock, and disbelief. The murmurs from the students about a hotel, a luxury car, and Noah's apparent wealth played on her mind as she stared at him.
"We heard rumours that you own a hotel," Olivia began, her voice steadying as she asked the question. "Is that true?"
Noah, ever composed, nodded. "Yes, it's true. I am the largest shareholder of Crown Veridian Hotel."
"I see—" Olivia began to reply, only for her voice to falter as the name of the hotel registered in her mind. Her eyes widened as she practically stammered, "Wait, what? Crown Veridian Hotel? The five-star hotel?"
Noah gave a small, matter-of-fact nod. "That's right."
The murmurs among the students exploded into full-blown chatter.
"No way, the Crown Veridian Hotel?! That place is so famous and luxurious!" a girl whispered excitedly.
What do you think?
