Chapter 211: Mystic Path (4/4), Gamble
'Her defense is best among us since she dedicated to it,' Aleron smiled.
"I announce my gamble. I bet that you four will last for five minutes against the bats and only then kill them."
Some were dumbfounded and some wryly smiled.
"Now that's the real challenge," Ying grinned with a maniacal grin and left the barrier, with his Symbios Gear's 2nd Gear Form-Abyssal Ignistar Slime Orb.
It was suitable for him who thrived at using multiple types of weapons, since the Slime Orb could take any shape.
One of the bats swiped at Ying who left the barrier, bearing deadly attacks. Its speed was suddenly so fast that Ying lost its presence for a moment.
Berserk Lifeforce.
Blood Claw.
Berserk Lifeforce drained the remaining lifeforce of the bats constantly in exchange for more overall power, and Blood Claw was a deadly attack that once struck, would cause continuous bleeding while ignoring any and all form of healing by the target struck.
But a clanging sound echoed instead of flesh tearing with a scream.
Ying had lost sight and sense of that Bat, but he didn't lose sight of himself.
Ying, titled Chaotic Martial Weapon, had inborn berserker qualities with the sharpest instinctive combat senses.
He felt threatened as clear as moonlight snowing on a clear lake and acted faster than the blink of an eye.
A round umbrella opened right before the Blood Claw struck him while releasing an intense blast as a counterattack. Abyssal Ignistar Symbios Gear's trait, from which Ying comprehended his first Concept-Extreme Ignis, was a pure offensive power.
Naturally, Ying was blasted back several meters as well and this was a prey-in-trap for the bats.
But Jiang and Lee acted swiftly, right after Ying went out because the result was predictable to them.
Storm Thunder Bagua.
Jiang's aura blasted outward as he swung his spear-and used his Mystic skill, covering a large area in eight sections that caused powerful hurricanes and storms.
"Woah, here he goes with his show-off skill," Riki clicked his tongue.
"You lost against him, so don't complain," Darzax chuckled. "He is a strategist fighter, and his Mystic Path elevated his style to a new level."
"It's cool old man Jiang can throw stronger than him into loops," Hua grinned. "I'll defeat him next time."
"You need to work on thinking more or go all the way beast like Ying if you want to win," Mei said. "You are in the middle."
"True,"Aleron laughed.
"Lee's staff is as punishing as ever against the monsters," Arran' tel nodded.
Inside Jiang's Storm Thunder Bagua, the bats couldn't bring out their full power while Roxen, Lee, and Ying battled out without using too much chakra.
Once they consume 50 chakra, they would recover it by consuming Vigor, Magilore, and Soul energy, so that those three energies could also start recovering.
"How long can you hold Storm Thunder Bagua, brother Jiang?" Ying asked.
"Since we have to hold out for 5 minutes for Master's bet, I will focus solely on maintaining Storm Thunder Bagua," Jiang said as he slammed his spear's point into the ground. "I'll intervene if need be."
"That sounds good," Lee said with a smile.
'Damn it, I am not used to this tension,' Roxen thought while barely hanging on to avoid injuries. 'If not for this Storm Thunder Bagua, I wouldn't have died.'
'I have to get my shit together!' Roxen felt frustrated but knew she had to compose herself. She was here to show her worth and follow Rias to pioneer this new horizon!
Time passed as the four of them continued fighting against the bats while staying in Jiang's skill.
They injured bats when given a chance but the four of them mostly focused on keeping themselves from getting injured and holding on for five minutes.
As two minutes passed by, the four of them felt more comfortable as they had seen all of the bats' skills and their attack patterns.
With Jiang's storms and hurricanes obstructing the Bats, the other three could dodge and parry more easily while keeping their energy reserves in check.
Energy efficiency in combat was of utmost importance in Chaosverse due to the edge Chakra energy and Mystic Skills had.
Only those skills could perform in Chaosverse. Skills executed using Magilore and the other two energies wouldn't execute properly in Chaosverse.
But the good thing about Mystic Path was that it manifested desired skill according to their vision if they worked hard for it constructing its training.
The skills would be upgraded or replaced with better versions as they gain insights or enlightenment.
The squad managed to hold out for five minutes, but now they were in the lower ranges of their energy banks.
However, the bats weren't in good shape either!
"Wonderful job, you four," Aleron spoke with a grin. "Time to finish them off."
[You have won the Gamble Quest: Five Minute Struggle]
[You have acquired 7700 Gacha points.]
'Woah, it's been long since I got this many points in a single gamble. As expected. DangersNôv(el)B\\jnn
involved gives more points.'
Meanwhile, Ying, Jiang, Lee, and Roxen had their vibes changed after hearing Aleron.
They screamed and roared as if letting out all bottled frustration.
"Incinerate!" Lee's eyes burned with intense golden-orange flames while his exquisite Symbios Gear-Paradox Flow's 1st Gear Form-Paradox Flow Staff, struck a bat he had been beating back, but mostly holding against for five minutes.
Mystic Skill: Brand of Sunflare!
The staff struck the bat's stuck and it lengthened at lightning speed with an intense flame
beam around it as the bat struck the ceiling near the hole.
A terrible scream echoed from the bat as its body was covered in strange exquisite sun
patterns, burning and melting it rapidly.
[You have killed a Darkin Dried Bat. 1x Random Box.]
Right after that, Ying also finished off a Bat and moved to kill the bat near Jiang.
Both of them worked together to kill it as they were low on energy by using a skill. Lastly, Roxen also killed the bat she was facing a few seconds later.
