Chapter 66: Brother of mine.

Chapter 66: Brother of mine.

"So heating, holding, hitting, and shaping," Night muttered as he looked around.

"Let's start with the forge? there's coal in there already and I spent a few more coins for some iron ore....I guess I use the furnace to smelt first?? then comes the heating of the pure substance..... and ahhhh, whatever let's just smelt first?"

"This...is a scam right? after smelting there's only so much left... I can barely make two items with this...bah, anyway, on to heating now.."

"Hmm, the temperature should be around 760C... alright let's get this done,"

Night watched as iron slowly changed to a bright orange-red colour, of course, the actual process of smithing was followed in Genesis, however, there were a few omissions that allowed players to fully enjoy the game and not focus too much on the chemistry as well as the physics aspect of smithing.

The basics were still pursued though, techniques were important and played an important role in the making of an item, the process started with smelting after which the material is heated again which makes it easier to shape, and there's the bucket with water for cooling or hardening (mineral oils can be used for quenching as well), then the metal is transported to the 'anvil' with the help of 'tongs', once the metal is on the anvil, hammers of shapes and weight are used to manipulate the metal and at last comes the 'shaping' where the metal is hit from all sides to extend the length or hitting the metal to move it a specific direction.

After following the exhausting process, Night finally managed to finish making one sword, although it was awkward looking with the handle placed weirdly and hammering wasn't even.

"man... this is tiring...I'll come back later.."

"Why's blacksmithing so damn hard?? hours spent just for a flimsy common grade sword that looks horribly awkward, tch," Luke muttered in dissatisfaction.

"Well, looks like Nate's busy... guess I'll get some food..."

"huh...no way..." Luke said under his breath while looking at his phone.

For the past few months, Luke completely neglected his college work. When he first started Genesis, the college gave them a week off but it was only a week, Luke did attend classes afterward but his attendance was only slightly above 50%.

Immediately after realizing his mistake Luke dialed a number and proceeded to call it,

"Hello Miss Lan, my favorite teacher, I hope yo-"

"Save it, Mr.Stone, both of us know you only called because of your lack of attendance,"

"Ahaha well if you put it like that it sounds bad, haaah I'm so sorry Miss Lan is there anything I can do to make up for my lack of attendance? please I'll do anything..."

"Luke... it's only 2 weeks more for this year to finish...*sigh* Actually.... there's something you can do."

"What is it? I'll do it!!"

"Take part in the annual UoT exhibition"

"No."

"Well that's alright with me, I'm not the one with attendance issues,"

".... fine... I'll do it..what do I need to do?"

"Anything you want, take part in one program or event that's all I ask, anyway if that's all you can check out the mainboard for more information, alright I better see you in the event Mr.Stone."

"Yes, Miss Lan..."

After the short and infuriating call, Luke sat down on his bed and sighed, "why must everything be so difficult?... it's still not too late...guess I'll get some food and go to the university,"

In the Underworld,

"Haah, that was awfully tiring and close.." Hades muttered as he sat down on his throne.

"There are not too many things that can tire a brother of mine," a voice said.

Hades's head shot up straight, he now looked at a man whose face was covered by the shadows. But just the electrifying aura and the sparks that constantly set off around the figure gave away the identity,

"Haha, don't look so surprised, you're a brother of mine, of course, I'd visit you," the figure said while slowly stepping forward revealing his face. Looking at the figures face made Hades clench his jaw and grit his teeth as this was the worst possible timing,

"Zeus..."
