Chapter 695: Letting The Cat Out of The Bag

Villain Ch 695. Letting The Cat Out of The Bag

"No, I’m awake already," Allen replied, his voice slightly husky from hours of writing. "I was writing a chapter for my stories."

As Allen spoke, his eyes flicked to the word count displayed on his laptop screen, and he couldn’t help but feel a surge of satisfaction and shock. Nearly five thousand words stared back at him, a proof of his productivity during the early hours of the morning.

"Oh, you are a writer, sir?" Kai’s voice held a hint of surprise, catching Allen off guard.

Allen’s heart sank as he realized his slip-up. "Uh, yeah," he replied hesitantly, already regretting his admission. He hadn’t intended to reveal his writing hobby to Kai, especially considering the content of his stories.

Closing his eyes, Allen took a moment to collect his thoughts. ’Oh no... I shouldn’t have said that,’ he chided himself inwardly. He knew that if Jordan, or Emma, found out about his writing, it could lead to all sorts of awkward and embarrassing conversations. After all, his stories weren’t exactly PG-rated, and the last thing he needed was for his family to think he had some kind of taboo fetish.

Allen couldn’t help but feel a pang of anxiety gnawing at him. His writing was his private passion, a creative outlet where he could explore themes and ideas that he wouldn’t dare discuss in real life. But now, it seemed that his secret was on the verge of being exposed, and he wasn’t sure how to handle it. Your journey continues at empire Nôv(el)B\\jnn

To make matters worse, Allen realized that his stories often delved into controversial territory, including taboo relationships and explicit content between blood related siblings. While he understood that it was all fictional and meant for entertainment purposes, he couldn’t shake the fear that his family might misinterpret his writing and judge him unfairly.

"Only an amateur writer," Allen replied casually, hoping to downplay the significance of his writing hobby. He inwardly cringed at his choice of words, knowing that he was underselling his passion for writing, but he couldn’t risk revealing too much to Kai.

Trying to change the subject, Allen quickly asked, "Why did you call me?"

Kai’s voice came through the phone again, calm and professional. "Your father and Miss Emma are waiting for you for breakfast in the dining room, sir," he informed Allen.

"Breakfast?" Allen echoed in confusion, his brow furrowing in realization. He glanced at the clock on his laptop screen and saw that it was already 09:15 AM. Panic fluttered in his chest as he realized he had overslept. ’Oh my God, I should have set an alarm,’ he berated himself silently.

"I knocked on your door but you didn’t answer. I thought you were still sleeping so I decided to call you," Kai explained.

Kai’s explanation about knocking on his door only added to Allen’s embarrassment.

"Thanks for calling me, Kai," Allen hurriedly expressed his gratitude. "I wore my headset and played some music every time I wrote, so I didn’t hear you." He cringed internally at the thought of Kai knocking on his door while he was lost in his writing world.

Living alone for so long had made him accustomed to solitude, and he had never faced such interruptions before, even during his marathon writing sessions.

"I’ll be there soon," Allen assured Kai, eager to end the conversation and avoid further embarrassment. He quickly ended the call and saved his work on his laptop, making a mental note to continue later.

Hurriedly, he gulped down the last remnants of his cold green tea and rushed to the mirror. Running his fingers through his hair, he attempted to tame the unruly strands into some semblance of order. Presentation was key, especially when facing his family, so he wanted to at least look presentable.

Next, he swiftly changed his clothes, opting for a clean t-shirt and simple sweat pants. A spritz of cologne followed, a small effort to mask any lingering traces of his writing session and make a good impression on his father and Emma. He didn’t want to keep them waiting, especially since he had already kept them waiting for breakfast.

In a flurry of movement, Allen hurried out of his room, his phone snug in his pocket as he made his way to the dining room. Once he entered, the aroma of breakfast greeted him, making his stomach grumble in anticipation. The table was adorned with an array of dishes, offering a tempting spread to start the day.

There were fluffy pancakes drizzled with maple syrup, crispy bacon, scrambled eggs with chives, fresh fruit salad, and a steaming pot of coffee brewing in the corner, sending fragrant tendrils wafting through the air.

Jordan and Emma were already seated at the table, each engrossed in their own digital devices. Jordan, clad in a tailored suit, was busy scrolling through his tablet, his brow furrowed in concentration as he checked stocks and perused the latest financial news.

Meanwhile, Emma, with her laptop perched in front of her, was deeply engrossed in the world of gaming, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she delved into rumors and news about the latest games.

Kai was already present, standing discreetly by the side, ready to attend to any needs that may arise.

"Morning, guys," Allen greeted with a sheepish grin as he slid into his seat at the dining table. "Sorry, I’m late," he added quickly, hoping to defuse any tension caused by his tardiness.

Jordan glanced up from his tablet and fixed Allen with a scrutinizing gaze. "I just found out you’re a writer, Allen," he remarked, getting straight to the point.

Allen exchanged a knowing look with Kai, acknowledging that the cat was indeed out of the bag now. He shrugged nonchalantly. "Yeah, just a side project," he admitted, trying to play down the significance of his writing endeavors.

Emma lowered her own tablet and turned her attention to Allen. "What kind of stories do you write?" she inquired, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Allen paused for a moment, considering how much he should reveal about his harem writing escapades. After all, he wasn’t exactly proud of his niche genre preference, especially in front of his family.
