Chapter 234 A Storage Solution
Chapter 234 A Storage Solution
Arthur thought over the curses and the effects that they brought. He thought about the pros and cons of using the cape and came to the conclusion that it was far too valuable to not be used.
"I'll equip it!" Arthur decided.
<nulli>~flutter~
He draped the cape over his back causing it to react to him.

The rivets that originally attached the cape to the Night Slayer's armor reacted and hooked together turning into a hoop that attached to Arthur's shoulders.
Once the hoop was completed, it tightened and left no gap for it to be slipped off.
'Strange… even though its tight, I don't find it uncomfortable.' Arthur thought to himself. He touched the two hoops that were now on his shoulders and found it to be soft like silk. "Just what kind of material is this?" he wondered.
It made him think about how something like this would even be repaired. Arthur had seen the durability of the Cape and knew that it was at 98 points out of 100.
It was still a number that didn't matter but Arthur knew the cape would one day have to be repaired. But something made from divinity wasn't easily repaired by just anyone.
'I'll need a skilled artisan to do this… normal blacksmiths and armorsmiths would be helpless.' Arthur knew.
<nulli>~sigh~
"Still, if I consider that the cape barely got 2 points of durability damage against that unknown Mage, it is still pretty great. And that is if it even got damaged during that fight…" Arthur reckoned the Cape wouldn't be damaged with normal means.
Now came the most important part for Arthur. It was time to test out the storage function of the cape.
'I had intended of finding a spatial storage ring, but the cape will serve perfectly for that.' Arthur was pleased that he wouldn't have to wait anymore.
"How do I do this?" Arthur held Dietrich and touched it against the cape.
<nulli>~flicker~
As soon as he did, the inner surface of the cape started to slicer and the Key Spear showed signs of sinking into the darkness.
>Abyssal Room has been activated!<
>Would you like to store the Key Spear Dietrich? 2% MP will be consumed<
"Store it," Arthur permitted.
<MP: 100 -> 98%>

<Abyssal Room Storage>
1. Key Spear Dietrich

"That was easy and didn't take much MP either." Arthur said seeing the spear disappear. "Now how do I withdraw… should be the same as using a storage ring." He said before trying to summon it in his hand.
<nulli>~shua~
And sure enough, the cape replied and the Key Spear appeared in his hand.
"Smoother than a spatial ring… faster in withdrawal too." Arthur was impressed.
He also realized that this was how the Night Slayer had been keeping its weapons. The cape had been his main storage tool since the start.
'Guess the players never had the right opportunity to figure that out. They just thought he had other storage item rather than the cape being it.' Arthur thought to himself.
Having understood the working of the cape, Arthur quickly stored all the other items that he had, leaving just a few particular ones on his person
It was also his means of testing how much mana was needed by certain items. After having put several items of different sizes he understood the mana requirements.

Arthur stored most of his consumables in the cape, leaving two of his potions in the potion holder for ease of access. The single potion he had put in the cape was just a backup option.
He had used two out of five potions earlier during the conflict.
He also stored the sickles he had gotten from the Blood Mane Sickle beasts along with the spare equipment he had gotten earlier to disguise as 'Grey Watcher'.
Having done, this Arthur got a sense of how much mana certain kinds of objects needed.
'All the consumables needed barley a single percent of Mana to store, while weapons need two percent. Small armor and clothes just need one percent each and a large armor piece needs three percent.
The looted items from beasts also take about one to two percent it seems depending on the size.' Arthur noted them in his mind.
Overall the consumption was not bad and Arthur reckoned he could use the cape as a viable option for storing corpses!
'As long as I have enough Mana I shouldn't have an issue in keeping the corpses. I can even keep spare Mana potions for looting and harvesting. The extra amount I get from the stored corpses will cover for the potion cost anyways.' Arthur estimated that it would be profitable.
Before this he had to prioritize which items to harvest and keep due to the weight limits, but now he didn't need to care for that as long as he had enough mana.
"Getting a passive mana regeneration skill also makes better sense now." Arthur smiled thinking of it.
While a player would naturally regenerate mana on their own, there were other skills that could assist or speed it up. Most of them couldn't be utilized in a battle, but could be useful when not in active combat.
'At the very least, I can get a meditate skill next time I'm in town.' Arthur reckoned.
It was one of the basic resting skills that boosted the speed of mana regeneration. Nearly every player had it as it made sense to do it while resting.
Of course there were different kind of meditate skills. Some regenerate mana at a better speed while some helped regenerate stamina at a faster speed.
There were also some that helped regenerate both at the same time, but they were rarer.
