Chapter 337: Dragon Lord Egan
Chapter 337: Dragon Lord Egan
*Welcome to War Online*
"You are back, just in time." Iphi's face lightened up as she saw Wil. "I thought I would spend in the darkness for a while and thought of sleeping."
Adding her into his party once again, Wil set out to the next island in the imaginary path that was drawn towards the Marsh Islands.
On the way, they came across many uninhabited islands. Remembering how the stone tablet was located in an underground ruin at an uninhabited island, he tried to search them. However, after searching a small island for a couple of hours, Wil gave up on such an idea.
He realized that it is impossible for him to search alone. So, he decided to continue to go to the inhabited islands for clues.
Three more days passed away;
"Finally" Wil let out a deep breath as he was looking at the cluster of hundreds of islands right down below.
"What is this place?" asked Iphi while looking at a temple as they landed on the island.
"This is where I met Averil." Wil didn't give any explanations while he started to walk.
Both of them slowly climbed the steps and reached the temple that was sitting at the top.
Entering through the door, Wil saw the place was empty except for spider webs and the broken chains on the floor.
Restriction Chains (Damaged)
Grade: Legendary
Description: These chains can be used to hold down any legendary or lower-grade beasts.
"Eh?" Wil was stunned as he read the description. He didn't expect such normal-looking chains are of legendary grade quality.
"What a lucky day" His eyes lit up in excitement. Even though they are damaged, the fact that they can hold down the beasts without any level of restriction amazed him.
He also cursed himself for ignoring this treasure, back then.
Not intending to waste any time, Wil immediately hurried towards the wall and slowly removed the chains from the holders, and stored them into inventory.
Iphi was looking at him with a clueless expression. She didn't understand why this person got excited over some mere chains.
After storing the chains, Wil started to look for clues on the wall. Since the entrances of the hidden realms were also on the ceiling, he searched for any drawings of a dragon.
"What are you doing?" Iphi asked him.
"Looking for clues." He replied while thoroughly searching every inch of the temple.
"Clues?"
"Yes. Usually, at places like these, there would be clues related to the dragon race. Just like how we find all those clues in things like books or ruins." Wil explained to her.
"Are you talking about this?" She suddenly said an unexpected thing as if she found something.
"Hmm?" Wil turned his head around to see Iphi was pointing at the floor, right below her.
He glanced in the direction she was pointing at but there's nothing.
"What is there?" He asked with a frown on his face.
"The painting of a human and a greenish silver dragon," She replied while staring at it. "Is she Aunt Averil?" She wondered out loud.
"Human and a dragon? Averil?" Wil's frown deepened and he immediately walked towards her.
"Are you joking around? There's nothing" Wil stopped talking upon seeing the seriousness on her face. He realized she wasn't joking. Suddenly, something clicked in his mind. "Wait a second is it the Dragon eyes?"
Wil felt that there's no reason to trust her once and check it.
He immediately transformed into a full-grown Red dragon.
"Oh! You look cool in this form, Mister" Iphi commented while her face glowed in delight. Wil saw an illusion of even stars in her eyes. She had never seen a young pure red dragon in her life. All of those are just old dragons at their death door like her grandpa.
He ignored her and looked at the floor. "This"
As soon as his eyes fell on the floor, he saw there's a painting of a bearded man and a greenish-silver-dragon like Iphi mentioned. However, it wasn't a complete image. A lot of it was covered by dust.
Controlling his tail, Wil swiped the dust on the floor and saw the whole image.
"So, my theory was right, after all," Wil commented while looking at it. Right beside the human, there's another person standing.
He appeared in a humanoid form with black horns, black dragon wings, and also pitch black dragon scales all over his body.
The greenish silver dragon which was supposed to be Averil seemed like she was confronting the old man while the black humanoid dragon stabbed her with a trident.
"No way Uncle Egan?" Iphi took a couple of steps back, displaying shock on her face.
"Egan?" Wil looked at her. He didn't know who this Egan guy is
Calming down herself, Iphi explained, "This is my eldest uncle, the Dragon Lord Egan. Long ago he colluded with demons and rebelled against my grandfather. However, he was failed and got banished from the dragon island."
'Hmm so, this guy is the one that imprisoned Averil? But, why? They were siblings and she was only a runaway princess.' Wil fell into deep thoughts upon hearing Iphi.
'If this guy's evil who doesn't care about family, then, he should have killed her. Perhaps, not strong enough to do that? Or maybe, this old man asked him to spare her. Come to think of it, who is this old man?' Not having answers to his doubts, he simply took the picture and saved it.
At the same time, he was also slightly disappointed that the entrance to the dragon island isn't located at the marsh islands as he thought. Should he go further? Or should he just go back to Llyne? He wondered.
Just then, he received a call from Hyori.
He picked it up. "Trainer Hyo."
"Hey, Wil." She sounded excited. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing much. Just roaming around here and there What about you? How's the situation over there?" Wil asked her about the results. Since she seemed excited, he assumed she might have called to tell him the good news.
And just like he expected, she answered, "Just won the third round. hehe... I'm going to the finals for the third consecutive year."
After congratulating her, Wil promised that her family will be there to watch the finals. Although she said its fine, he insisted on helping her out and further said that he also had some kind of business at the branch office.
Hyori was skeptical about his reasoning and believed he made it up on the spot.
However, she didn't know that Wil really had a serious business in the city but not at the branch office. It's the Mayor.
After all, he still hasn't forgotten what happened at Wular city during his first visit. For the past week, every time he saw a romantic/erotic scene in a movie, it kept reminding him of Luoyang.
Even in dreams, he was no longer able to see Sierra. Instead, there's always a wild girl, which irked him more.
He felt angry at not only those scammers but also at the Mayor's son.
He believed that if they wouldn't try to cause trouble with Luoyang in the middle of the road, perhaps, he wouldn't meet her for the second time and the incident wouldn't even happen.
So, he felt like the Mayor owed him an apology. Now that he got the opportunity to visit the city, Wil decided to deal with it once in for all.
