Chapter 363: Mia's difficulties

Chapter 363: Mia's difficulties

Looking at the mural on the stone slab, Wil's eyes lit up in excitement. He was hundred percent confident that this is the entrance to the Dragon island.

The only thing that's off about this mural is that there wasn't an Elf in the picture. According to the prophecy, the utopia of the dragons is located at the place where the Northern humans, Eastern Elves, Western Angels drew the blood of the southern demons.

However, instead of Elves, there was a picture of Dragon with the other three. Is the prophecy wrong, or do Dragons have enmity with Elves? Wil doesn't know or rather, he doesn't care about it.

Putting his useless thoughts away, he inspected the stone slab to confirm his thoughts and to see if he can get any other information from it.

Gateway of Dragons

Status: sealed

Description: One of the two gateways to the world of dragons. After being sealed by Archmage Solomon, this gateway can only be unsealed by the Imperial weapon.

"One of the two gateways? So, there must be another way too, huh! Well, never matter Let's get to it."

An imperial sword appeared in his hands.

Dismissing the Warship along with Iphi into his inventory, Wil grabbed the sword's handle, position it vertically down to let its tip touch the mural, and unseal it.

Just as he about to touch it, suddenly, a system notification rang in his ears.

*Ding! You are receiving a call from outside.

Upon clicking on the notification, it turned to be his mother who was calling him.

He wondered whether it is because she's reached home and was calling him or something.

Wil's first thought of rejecting it right away but then, as a sudden thought of possible abduction of his siblings appeared in his mind, he immediately answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Wils. It's me" He heard his mother's voice on the other side. It appeared calm. However, Wil wasn't comfortable with her calling him affectionately like that. He only put up with it in front of his future-in-laws and Hyori's parents.

"What is it, Mrs. Quilton?" Now that they were on the phone, his voice turned cold.

His mother, who was long prepared for it, didn't mind his tone. She said, "Nothing, it's past 11. You haven't returned to your room, yet. I'm wondering when you will finish your work at the office."

"Huh! You haven't aboard the flight?" Wil was surprised that they didn't return to Leafway city even though he asked Silver to drop them at the airport so that they can return by his private jet.

As Scarlet confessed that she intended to return home when his business in Ares city is finished, Wil fell into a brief silence before replying that he's almost done with the work.

Upon getting reminded that it is already 11, he remembered the meeting with Texel's Chairman, on the next day.

"Sigh Let's just open it, tomorrow."

Wil immediately logged out without returning to the surface, not intending to waste hours of time to go up and down.

The next day morning;

"Good morning, Big brother" Mia was the first to greet him after waking him up by kicking the door twice as her hands were occupied by mugs.

Looking at the cheerful smile on the little girl's face made Wil feel like all of his drowsiness left away. "Hey, Mia Sorry, I was busy yesterday with morning stuff and I thought you were also leaving for home."

From the moment he learned about the existence of his sister, Wil didn't know why but he felt attached to her.

Maybe, it's because he spent so much time without seeing any blood relatives save for his dad who was always busy with the settlements, and his paternal grandmother who passed away when he was around 11.

As for his mom, in his past life, he never knew that she's alive and in the present life, he hated her for abandoning him and living happily with her new family.

So, in Wil's heart, Mia is kinda like a little angel. He was also further guilty for not looking after her well either in-game world or in the real world.

"It's alright. Here for you" Giving the coffee mug in her hands to Wil, she entered the room.

Taking a sip, Wil was surprised a bit as his eyes lit up, "It's good."

"Isn't it? Rey also loves the coffee brewed by mom. But, I don't like it though Too bitter Ugh" Mia let out a comment as she walked towards the balcony.

Thankfully, she didn't see how Wil's expression changed to dark upon hearing that it was brewed by his mom. However, thinking that Mia would be sad if he were to throw it away, Wil continued to drink it while following her.

As Mia was enjoying the view of the city from the balcony, Wil dragged an additional chair to sit down, "so, how's your day. Did you tour around, again?"

"Not much." Mia let out a sigh and spoke honestly. "Most of the places are filled with eastern architecture. Kinda weird to me. Although I like the view from the top like these, there are too many skyscrapers in this city. Got a little bit sick of them.

Still, this city is a lot better than Leafway city, not because of all the infrastructures but we can see westerners everywhere. There, at home, I hardly see any people like us. I don't know how you deal with them but whether it's their habits, culture, or food, it's a bit too difficult for me to adjust here"

Although it appeared like she was complaining, Wil felt like there is a hidden meaning in her words as if she wants to tell him something. He fell into thoughts.

After a brief silence, he opened his mouth, "Did you miss your home at Hailey city?" He wondered whether his sister just didn't like the eastern culture at all in contrast to him.

In response, Mia nodded, "It's more like I miss my friends. There aren't too many westerners in my class too. So, they look at me differently."

"Is your school life, good?" Since Mia seemed to be opening up to him regarding her difficulties, not just showing her cheerful side, Wil probed further. Her words made him worried that she might be facing bullying. After all, it was common in Yarlford city.

Unlike the adults who were more accepting towards the other races, the teenagers in their rebellious phases won't be that kind.

Thankfully, his sister doesn't seem like she was facing many difficulties. "A few classmates avoid me due to the racial difference. However, the teachers are good. I made a couple of friends. At least, there was no bullying like I feared it to be."

Wil fell into thoughts once again.

A couple of hours later;

Wil was alone in his room with a laptop on the desk, seemed to be busy in a video call with some middle-aged fellow.

"We can only issue the scholarships based on their economic background, not on their place of origin or race. If we do that, the image of our academy will fall. Even if it is to promote multiculturalism, the board members won't agree to it, Mr. Ravens." The chairman of Darwin institutions doesn't seem like agreeing with Wil's demand.

Wil's face turned serious. "Then, what if I invest another 100 million? Will the board members agree?"
