Chapter 391: Background story of Lucius
Chapter 391: Background story of Lucius
As the mother and son were grateful for his help, stating that the favor he had done on them is something that can't be paid back even in a lifetime, Wil simply told Lucius to get his rightful place as the King.
Upon hearing it, Sarah and Lucius were taken aback by surprise. Wil saw a peculiar look on Sarah as if she got caught while the boy had a look of confusion.
"What I don't understand I don't understand what what you are saying, Lord Time Traveler" Sarah stuttered as her eyes widened in shock.
Such a reaction greatly surprised Wil and even Lucius.
Sarah proceeded to say as she grabbed her son, "he's just a son of an ordinary fisherman. How could my Luci becomes the King?"
"Because he's the direct descendent of the Draconus Royal family. His destiny lies at Imperial city, not here at the fishing village." Wil didn't even hesitate to tell the truth as he wanted to hurry up and finish the quest. "Now that the Dragon King is no more, Lucius has the right to claim the throne and become the new Dragon King."
He expected them to get shocked but the mother just tightly grabbed her son even tighter. "No, he's my son. Luci doesn't have any relations with the royal family. I may not give birth to him but he's my son he's my son" She continued to repeat the sentence as if she had gone insane with sweat pouring down from her head.
Wil felt the developers have really worked too hard to show realistic behavior on an unimportant NPC.
Just as he was about to speak further, Lucius opened his mouth, "so, that messenger was saying truth after all. I'm the son of the late Dragon King, Owen Draconus."
"Messenger?" Wil frowned as he looked at him.
Sarah also took a look at him in surprise. "Who told you that?"
Lucius then started to explain about his encounter with the translucent dragon that claimed that it is the messenger of the Divine Dragon.
After listening to everything, Wil realized this is how the event of the civil war starts. He further assumed that this messenger might have informed all the eligible candidates from the list he got.
As for whether it informed Iphi or not, Wil doesn't know but he never had the intention to go and talk to her in the current situation.
He then wondered whether that it was him, this otherworlder of the ancient race that messenger dragon told him.
If that's the case, then, Lucius is fated to follow him. On the other hand, Wil wanted to put a crown on the boy and make him the puppet king.
The two things contradict each other. So, Wil couldn't help but fell into thoughts to decide his next move.
Meanwhile, after telling everything, Lucius looked into his mother's eyes and asked about his birth and who is his biological mother.
Wiping off her tears, Sarah let out a deep sigh, "It was around 16 years ago when I work as a handmaiden of the Queen."
Suddenly, the surroundings around Wil changed, bringing him back from his thoughts.
Wil found himself at the Imperial Palace Gardens.
He realized this was a story mode and found there's no option of skipping.
As he looked around, he saw a beautiful looking woman in servant's clothes was seen standing nearby to a Silver-haired little girl as she was attending to the flowers.
"This must be Kyla. Who could have expected that such a cute little girl will grow up to such an evil woman" *Ahem* "She's just a piece of 1s and 0s... No need to think about her character."
Wil continued to watch the scene.
Suddenly, Owen enters the scene full of armor. A few soldiers were accompanying him.
"Papa" The silver-haired little girl screamed in happiness as she rushed towards her father.
"Be careful, princess." The servant girl also followed her.
"Kyla" The Dragon King seemed overjoyed as he lifted his daughter with a laugh. Just then, his eyes fell on the servant who wasn't standing far away.
"You, over there" He called her. The servant girl reached him and greeted him with a deep bow.
"What's your name?" He asked her.
The servant girl replied, "Lila Boots, Your Majesty."
The Dragon King nodded and handed Kyla to her. "Look after her well."
The scene changes to where the Dragon King is in some sort of dinner party.
The servant girl while pouring wine to one of the guests, upon which her hand was grabbed and was told to sit on his lap.
As she tried to resist, he forcefully tried to make her sit on his lap.
The Dragon King spotted it and roared at him. "Lord Vester, mind your behavior. She's a servant here, not a slave."
The scene changes to where the servant girl was abducted by two hooded figures. Somehow, the Dragon King got the news very quickly and went after them.
The scene now changes to Dragon King killing the Dragon Lord Vester. "You are trying your own cousin because of a servant?" He roared the muscular old king, to which the latter looked at him coldly. "I won't spare anyone that dares to snatch my things"
The scene suddenly changes to the outer sector of the Imperial city. The roads weren't that nice and most of the houses clustered together. There are people in tattered clothes roaming around. To put it simply, the location reeks of poverty.
In such a location, the Dragon King was walking in the streets all alone without bothering to hide his identity.
He enters a house and was soon, greeted by a couple. As he entered the bedroom, he saw a pregnant girl lying on the bed. "Your Majesty!" She tried to stand up but was grabbed by the King.
"Don't." Sitting nearby, he spoke with affection, "Lila, The truth is known to everyone. There's no point leaving you here. You are returning with me to the Palace."
The scene then changes to a temple in the Imperial city where the Dragon King is taking blessings of the statue of the Divine Dragon.
While the Queen looks calm on the surface as if she doesn't care about it, the other three concubines on the other hand are glaring at the commoner that snatched their husband and became a Royal Concubine.
To everyone's surprise, a light beam fell on both of them, indicating the blessings of the Divine Dragon which only happened once during his wedding with the Queen.
The scene once again changes to one of the bed chambers where the Dragon King is anxiously moving back and forth. Reuben was seen accompanying him even though his wife is also pregnant at that time.
He heard of the crying of a baby and a smile appeared on his face. Reuben congratulated him.
However, soon, the Dragon King's facial expression changed as he heard of the death of his concubine.
The scene once again changes. This time, it's the Queen's chamber.
Wil saw Sarah for the first time in the story mode and was a lot younger than now.
The Queen handed a four-month-old baby to her. "Go, Sarah. This boy inherited the pure blood of dragons despite his mother being a commoner. With his Majesty ignoring his existence, it isn't safe for him in these walls of the palace."
