Wizard World:Struggles of dimensions

Chapter 153

153 Strengthening

The sublimation of the soul was complete with the liquefaction of the spirit mist and a subtle and obscure field spread out from Layton, with his eyes still closed through his rune that was now encapsulated the light of his will he could perceive the world around him differently, various subtle fluctuation, energy particles escaping from energy planar dimensions, the subtle aura that permeated the air, the atomic structure of molecules in the environment and the subtle interactions they all underwent as they interacted with each other was mesmerizing.

With the existence of the field the various hidden phenomena around were quickly decomposed turning into boundless energy that kept the field running without his effort, the illusion of power left him who had initially mastered his will intoxicated for a moment before he grasped himself, although his breakthrough was technically over Layton was not done, using his body as a conduit he attracted the energy to flow through him, cleaning all impurities accumulated in his body, but that wasn’t all using the connection between his body and soul he directed his body to evolve itself, the energy washed through his pores and his body automatically created a subtle and peculiar structure in his pores that would filter not only the air that went in through them but also the energy that was to be passed through the passage, his various organs were not exempt from the process as the muscle and cellular network that made them up were also optimized, this process continued to his bones, fascia, blood vessels and every other cell in his body.

As this process was completed Layton’s life level faintly increased, with every breath that went through his nostrils and pores his vitality increased and a sense of fullness hit him, he knew this was the optimal state he could achieve, it wasn’t that he couldn’t go further but that it wouldn’t be worth it, any further permanent optimization would result on his body being dependent on either high energy food or require more oxygen to maintain its peak state or his body demand for a high energy environment would drastically rise which would affect him especially when he travelled to various new environments or planes.

He was currently in the best state that would enable his body and soul to support each other as they slowly grew over time, opening his previously shut eyes he turned his attention from his body and contacted zero via the wristband that appeared on his wrist, he wanted to experience and test out the details of his domain although he could feel some subtle details about its use already but it still needed to be practised to fully grasp its intricacies, and that that kind of test could not be done in his room.

After a moment, while he put on a jacket over his grey tank top he received a reply from zero and then manipulated the connector on his wrist he utilized the new privilege given by school city for legends and teleported directly to the coordinates given by zero.

Layton found himself in a familiar room, he quickly searched his memory and he recalled it was the same practice room he had met zero and her brother in when they first came across each other in school city, zero and Lilith were already waiting for him, zero donned a familiar full body combat suit with her pretty face and blond air displayed freely as she was not donning her normal cloaked apparel, Lilith on the other hand was only slightly familiar as her physical age seemed to have progressed and unlike the 6 year old stature she previously possessed she no looked 14, she was dressed in a stylish short dark red gown with black leggings her red hair was hung in a ponytail that gave a hint of maturity to her otherwise childish face as a playful smirk hung on her face as she saw Layton’s somewhat surprised expression. It had been a while since the last time he had seen Lilith and he didn’t expect her to grow up so quickly, she had now become a proper beauty embryo

“I told you he’d be surprised,” Lilith quipped as a smile of a successful prank filled her face, zero didn’t reply she just gazed at Layton with a strange look in her gaze. Layton could faintly feel what she meant and a wry smile crept on his face, although he was surprised at first he didn’t really have any other thoughts about Lilith she was still that cute little girl to him.

“I missed you” Lilith cried as she left zero, caught Layton’s arm and dragged him to the nearby bench situated in the corner of the room, zero slowly followed and they began to exchange experiences about what happened during their last travel, Lilith had nothing to share after she disintegrated her self turning into black mud she lost all awareness of the outside world and only woke up when zero revived her and almost immediately they both left the plane, she didn’t really have any experience about becoming a legend either as when she awoke she was already a legend, in fact, she was also here to conduct a combat test on her domain. Zero was basically the only one who really participated in the plane travel and filled them both on her experience.

After being sent to the material plane by Lilith, Zero who held her core rune quickly became dormant mixing into various sects and families trying to gain more information about the plane and find Layton’s whereabouts, it was worth noting that the assassin organization that had trained Nicholas had most of its origin from zero’s influence, most of the killer organizations in the plane was filled with her traces, by virtue of her mystery energy it was relatively easy for her to infiltrate and develop followers in various forces.

.....

She then investigated Grant who created the psionic knights utilizing psionic that zero was familiar with and then through some temptations quietly got in touch with ‘grant’ who had then informed her of Layton’s situation and offered assistance. it was through her infiltration of various forces that she obtained information about Nicholas and the plan to collapse the astral plane, taking advantage of this she planned and succeeded in killing and replacing gladius when he first descended on the material plane. Although Layton had not personally met Gladius Layton knew it was by no means an easy feat to successfully assassinate and replace a former leader of deities without anyone being aware. Layton was instantly curious about how strong zero presently was although he had seen her in combat with her brother but the gap between her and her brother made he who had been watching at that time unable to fully deduce her level not to mention she hadn’t advanced to legend at that point and now she had been one for quite some time.
