Chapter 120: Trapped
Chapter 120: Trapped
Laude gave up thinking about what he had seen in his mind. Although it felt as if real, seeing that nothing strange was happening on the portal, he just deemed it as his worried imagination.
With that said, Laude just decided to go to the village instead. He might as well let his son stay here alone as what the other party wished to do.
However, Laude was just about to take a step when suddenly, he heard his son speaking,
"He's back..." The man spoke with the same expressions but this time, Laude noticed that there was a hint of caution in the other party's voice. It was also as if the other party had already expected this to happen.
Laude was startled. Hearing his son, he knew who the other party was talking about. It must be his elder brother, Joe Jabat! Just what did the other party meant by his words? Did Joe finish clearing the dungeon already?! That was way too fast!
Laude suddenly recalled the deja vu he experienced earlier. If what he saw in that deja vu was real, then wouldn't it be bad news?
But what made Laude even more surprised was that his son appeared to know the arrival of Joe. Was Joe told him about his arrival that was why he went here? Or he'd just knew it without Joe informing him? Did the other party had experienced as well the deja vu he experienced before? Just what was going on here? Laude couldn't make sense about it at all.
If the other party had experienced the deja vu, why was it that there was no reaction from him? And just by looking at the other party's expression, Laude was certain that it wasn't the case. His son might have learned about the arrival of Joe through other means.
Whatever might be the case, Laude could only believe that this son of his had then again, became stronger after staying in the Spaceland for a long time.
He even was doubting if he could still defeat the other party in a one-on-one match. From the looks of it, he was not too far away from becoming an SS-rank Hunter!
So then again, Laude shifted his gaze to the red portal as a crack appeared on its surface. Laude's eyes got widened because what he was seeing right now, was exactly what he saw in the deja vu he felt a moment ago.
Not long after, just like what Laude had expected, the crack became bigger and bigger and produced many other cracks. Until finally, the red portal shattered into pieces as a pillar of red light came out of it.
Laude then narrowed his eyes. The aura was way too terrifying enough for him to shudder. How much more if a Low Ranker or even a Middle Ranker was standing on its presence? They might shudder to death from this terrifying aura!
But what made Laude became bewildered was that he had already seen this scene before. Just what really was happening to him? Did he just awaken some kind of ability to see the future? But that was not possible! Only a high-level time element user like Don Cruz could do such a feat. How could he, a space element user, could do something like seeing the future?!
But as bewildered as he was, he didn't have so much time to waste thinking about it. He had something to worry about in front of him. He had no time to dilly dally!
Laude knew that this terrifying aura came from Joe. It appeared that even after destroying the entire dungeon, the other party was still unsatisfied. And since there was nothing left in the dungeon to vent his anger, and even after leaving the dungeon, the other party's wrath didn't leave him as he was continuously unleashing his terrifying aura ready to cause even more destruction in his wake.
However, since Joe was acting like that, it only meant one thing... Joe failed to take back his son! Laude could only think about it. It appeared that even after all the chasing the other party did, Joe was still unable to catch one of the 666 Knights of Hell.
From the midair, a silhouette of which the pillar of light came from, slowly descended on the ground. But as the other party slowly reach the ground, the terrifying aura was just getting even stronger. Laude was worried that if this went on, the village barrier might become unstable.
But then, a light barrier appeared before him, completely shrouding a hundred meters radius of Joe. From the looks of it, Laude guessed that it was a space barrier trying to separate Joe from the real world.
At that moment, Laude knew that it was his son who made the space barrier, Johnny Jabat! No wonder Johnny bothered himself to go here, it appeared that he already knew that something like this would happen.
"Calm down Kuya!" Johnny gritted his teeth as even he himself was having a hard time suppressing the terrifying aura of Joe.
If this went on, Johnny knew full well what would very likely to happen. If the village barrier became unstable again, the aura of Original Sin might leak out, enabling the demons to find this place again. If that time came, they might use the black portal to come here! If that happened, then surely, even if Joe was strong enough to defend himself, he was not that strong to protect the others as well. Disaster was very likely to triumph if this went on!
That was why Johnny bothered himself to come here upon learning what had happened to his big brother's child.
At first, he didn't plan to attend the celebration of Joe's child's birthday. But since a sudden event had happened, even if he was busy, he spared some of his time to see the situation himself.
But upon seeing the red portal, and with his instinct as a space element user, he could tell that Joe could clear the dungeon immediately. The portal was a spatial door so it wasn't hard for him to guess what was happening inside the dungeon.
And what he learned was way too terrifying that prevented him to even dare to enter the portal. There was a being in there that surpassed his imagination. And he could tell that it was related to his big brother. But even if it was related to his big brother, he could feel that the moment he entered that portal, that being would surely cause him harm, or even worse, kill him!
That being said, even after all the temptation, Johnny didn't dare to enter the portal. He waited patiently and prepared himself for the comeback of his big brother. Because he knew well that once Joe came back, the other party would likely cause havoc. With that, he intended to suppress his big brother and make him calm down.
"Father! Are you going to just stand in there!" Johnny saw his father stupidly staring at the midair. He really was speechless seeing that while he was having a hard time suppressing the aura of his big brother, his father seemed to enjoy the show.
"Y-yes!" Laude suddenly came into his right mind. Even he himself wasn't sure why was he acting like that. Probably because of the power of Joe that was why? Or perhaps because of the deja vu he felt right now?
In any case, he helped his son to suppress Joe. Among the Hunters there, they were the only ones who were proficient enough in space element. With that being said, they couldn't rely on others.
He lifted his both hands and right after that, his hands glowed a white light as the space barrier made by Johnny had been fortified. The aura of Joe seemed to calm down a bit from the outside. But of course, it didn't change anything from the inside of the space barrier. And it was as if getting worse.
The father and son could only grit their teeth to the hardest while hoping for Joe to calm down already!

"What happened to Lolo, why did he stop attacking?"
Back to the real world where Laude was fighting Tokayo...
Jasper was bewildered upon seeing that his grandfather had suddenly stopped moving. His opponent was almost finished preparing his move as the spherical blood forming on its hand was becoming more stable. Jasper was afraid that if his grandfather didn't make a move now, he would surely suffer this time!
Charley on the other hand, narrowed her eyes towards her father as she remarked, "Father is trapped into an illusion..."
Everyone who heard it found their eyes widened in shock. A strong person like Laude was trapped into an illusion? It was way too unbelievable for them. Just what did Jim had done for Laude to be trapped like that? Was it only because of Charley's eyes? But even so, Laude should at least notice it by now even with his current strength. Did Laude purposely lowered his guard down and be trapped into an illusion? Those who were around could only think about it.
