Chapter 127: Bone Axe II
Chapter 127: Bone Axe II
"I'll wait for your come back!"
Ben nodded as he smiled slightly. He then turned around and walked towards the man who was still kneeling on the floor. "You promised me that you will do your all to protect my sister right?!"
Zach nodded his head seriously and with the hint of confidence blooming in his eyes. Although he had only joined the Hunter Association through assessment and exams and didn't have a chance to study in any of the Academy of the Kingdom, he was still a B-rank Hunter. And he would certainly use all of his strength to put his words into effect.
Ben smiled as he said, "Zach is it?"
"Yes," Zach nodded.
Ben nodded as well as he said, "The bone dagger I gave you earlier is just something I created on a whim. But now, let me gift you a real thing. What weapon are you more inclined to use?"
"A-axe!" Zach replied hesitatingly. Although he didn't know why the other party was asking him something like that, he felt that the other party would give him a weapon to use.
In any case, he was still astonished by the fact that the high-level bone he had absorbed earlier was actually a bone created by this kid before him! That was really unexpected! He thought that the bone he had absorbed was the remains of a high-level Awakeners and the other party was just lucky enough to find it. But who would have thought that that was actually something that was created?! Was that his ability?
One must know that bones created by World Energy had a much weaker effect, but the bone that the other party had given to him had a great effect on him. It even made him instantly got healed and gain greater strengths after he absorbed the bone. To think that this kid could... Zach found it hard to believe in it.
"So you use axe..." Ben nodded in response. After which, he removed his clothes and said, "I have twenty-four ribs. Each of them can turn into a weapon. An insanely strong weapon."
As Ben said those words, one of his ribs on the lowest right bottom part was popping out. Ben then grabbed the bone and pulled it out from his chest. An incredible amount of Weapon Energy was exuded out from him and from the bone that was now transforming into a one-handed single edge battle axe!
Zach trembled upon seeing it. No wonder this kid could save him, it appeared that the other party wasn't relying on World Energy but on his absurd amount of Weapon Energy! How was that even possible? The other party's Weapon Energy was even almost comparable to the top 1 strongest swordsman in the Maharlika Kingdom, Jason, the Vessel of Angelic Sword!
Zach could still remember the moment when Jason had unleashed his terrifying strength 15 years ago, in the civil war, to bring an end to it. Zach was one of the cannon fodders who was lucky enough to survive and see the strength of the many monsters of the Kingdom. And Jason had stood out among all of them in terms of Weapon Energy!
But this kid... in such an age could actually... Cold sweats continued to come out on Zach's forehead as he realized how terrifying was this kid in front of him!
So then, Ben lifted the battle axe made by one of his ribs as if he was lifting a balloon. In great laziness, he then slashed the battle axe upwards and the supposedly underground chamber became an open area and a hole to the ground.
All the ladies around had passed out and fell on the floor except for Jessa and Sarah who had barely managed to retain their consciousness. They even found their mouth agape in shock and eyes rolling on the ground.
Even Zach almost failed to breathe some air at that moment. That was crazy! He felt that that slash could even shatter a mountain! Just how terrifying was this weapon?! No, Zach felt that it was much better to ask how terrifying was the kid in front of him who created that weapon?!
"This is my 23rd weapon, I named him Bone Axe II. Although his strength is among the weakest of my twenty-four ribs, it should be enough for you to protect my sister until I came back." Amidst everyone's fright, Ben's voice echoed to the surroundings to break the silence and cause yet another astonishment.
Zach thought that his astonishment had already reached the max level. But who would have thought that this weapon was actually only in the weakest among the other party's weapon! He had seen that the other party had only slashed the battle axe leisurely and it had already caused such massive damage. How much more if the other party had used all of his strength?! The whole kingdom might shatter!
But now, he would just learn that there were still a lot more stronger weapons from the other party. If he used it, just how much destruction could he cause?!
"What?!" Amidst Zach's astonishment, he heard a surprised yet disdainful voice. "You want to give me to this weakling? Master, please think carefully..." That voice of a man pleaded.
The voice had, of course, came from the battle axe. Zach widened his eyes in yet another astonishment. This axe was actually sentient?! Was there even an end to this train of astonishment?! He felt that he really was unworthy to wield such a weapon.
"I'm not giving you, I'm gifting you," Ben responded lazily.
"Huh?! What's the difference?!" Bone Axe II snorted as he continued, "Anyways, I won't accept this. I would rather serve you, master!"
"Ugh, I'm actually giving you the hardest mission and here you are, refusing my request." Ben was saddened. But it was obvious that he was just acting. After a moment of clicking his tongue, Ben continued, "I thought I could rely on you. But I think I was wrong. It's really disappointing. Maybe I should just ask Bone Axe I to protect my beloved sister tsk tsk."
"What?! Wait!" Bone Axe II was startled. This was actually the hardest mission?! He never expected that it actually was!
At that moment, Bone Axe II realized that his master was only using the weakling in front of him to protect his master's elder sister while he was not around. If that was really the case then, it might really be the hardest. He knew that if his master was not the one who was wielding him, his strength would greatly diminish. If he was tasked to protect his master's elder sister with just his diminished strength, then it would surely be a hard task!
He was still planning to follow his master in his journey to save the world but since his master had assigned a hard task for him, he couldn't just refuse the other party that easily right? He even felt that his master had a high expectation for him.
"Can this weakling even lift me up?!" Bone Axe II asked doubtfully. He'd guessed that even if his master gave him to the other party, it would still be useless since it was more likely that the other party didn't have enough Weapon Energy to spare.
"We'll see..." Ben replied as he heaved a sigh of relief seeing that the other party was easy to talk with.
After which, Ben walked closer to Zach as he held the axe on its other end and reached the handle of it towards Zach. "Stand up and take this. This is for you."
Without saying a word, Zach swallowed a mouthful of saliva as he stood up. Zach began to sweat. He slowly reached his two hands towards the handle of the axe as he gripped it to the hardest. But when Ben had let go of the axe, the axe fell on the ground and caused a long ravine.
So heavy! Zach was having a hard time swallowing his saliva. He was even more astonished that just by falling into the ground, the axe could deal such massive damage. How could he wield such a weapon?!
"See master! As I thought, this weakling can't even lift me up!" Bone Axe II disdained.
"This..." Zach was embarrassed. He tried to lift the axe once again but even with all the shout, veins popping out, all the mockeries made by the axe, and all the grinding of his teeth he had done, he was still incapable of lifting the axe.
Gasp, gasp, gasp.
Until finally, Zach was exhausted. "I think, I can't really lift this axe..."
Ben frowned. "Just what the heck are you doing in the first place?!" Ben was really speechless seeing the stupidity of this man in front of him. "Activate your damn bloodline first, I didn't give you my bone for nothing!"
"Ahh..." Only then did Zach had recalled about the bone he had absorbed a while ago. How could he forget something like that? He was really embarrassed beyond words right now.
