Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion

Chapter 65when legends fade

In the vastness of space, a lonely ship orbited a distant planet, larger than Earth yet strikingly similar. From afar, one could see the lush green lands and blue oceans, resembling familiar elements and materials of Earth.

A group of humans had settled here for years, building their civilization among the wild, instinct-driven creatures. Already in their metal age, they reigned supreme. Deep within a well-guarded house, protected by the strongest of the humans, an old figure remained—a man still capable of walking despite his age.

This man stood before a particular cloth hanging on the wall, his rough, weathered face showing a bittersweet smile. He was the last surviving member of the Justice League: , his name was Batman.

With a deep sigh, he spoke, "We humans survived. Thank you, old friends."

His aged voice trembled with sadness as he recalled the sacrifices made. Alfred, Diana, Clark, Aquaman, Cyborg, Flash—they all perished, defending humanity from that demon. How ironic it was, that one being nearly obliterated human civilization.

"Your deaths weren't in vain. We survived," Batman murmured as he reached out to touch the fabric. Memories flooded his mind, flashing between moments of heroism, the fight for justice, and the pain of loss—his parents' deaths playing once again in his mind everything creating a clouded past for him.

"Hmm…" Batman muttered before turning to the door and opening it.

A vibrant village spread out before him, alive with the sounds and scents of life. The air was fresh, filled with the aroma of cooked meat, while humans bustled about, trading goods, building structures, and working hard. Children ran around, laughing, their innocence lighting up the scene.

"Greetings, sir. Are you going for a walk?" one of the guards asked with a smile. Batman nodded.

The guards stood tall and formed a protective shield around him—not by obligation, but out of respect. As they walked through the village, the people bowed and greeted Batman, a gesture that brought a small, appreciative smile to his aged face.

Eventually, he arrived at the village center, where statues of six figures stood tall—the Justice League, immortalized in stone.

"We made it. The sacrifices were worth it," Batman whispered, a sense of pride and sorrow filling his heart as the guards looked on, understanding the weight of history he carried.

Closing his eyes, Batman took a deep breath, letting the sounds of the village blend with the chirps of birds and the distant howl of animals. The scent of the forest and the stream's flow calmed him as he stood in silent reflection.

When he opened his eyes, he saw a golden light flash in the sky, and then cover the whole sky . Silence afterwards as everything vanished.

Meanwhile, in space...

Leo and Doria landed on a desolate planet, their monstrous forms towering over the ruins they found. Slowly, they shrank, transforming back into their human shapes.

Multiple grotesque, worm-like creatures emerged from the ground, devouring everything in sight, heading straight for them.

"I'll handle this," Doria said with a smirk. With a flick of her wrist, the creatures halted, turning on each other in savage attacks.

"Let's move," she said, her eyes gleaming. Leo nodded, and they made their way deeper into the planet, reaching the core where a portal awaited.

"Ready?" Leo asked as they stood before it.

"Always," Doria replied, stepping in without hesitation.

"She needs to learn caution," Leo thought, following her into the unknown.

At the Quinlan Sect...

The sect master stood at the peak of her sect, her hands trembling—not in fear, but in rage. "They've broken their promise," she seethed.

"The SEIDES took my son, just as they took my husband." She gazed into the sky, her mind clouded with anger and confusion. The last Rank 3 being of this world had fought fiercely against the SEIDES, sacrificing his essence to block their entry. But now, the barrier had failed.

Unknown to her, the interference came from Asmodeous, whose distant hand accelerated the decay of the protective essence, breaking the fragile balance.

Suddenly, the entire universe-sized world shook. Creatures fled in panic as a loud cracking sound echoed across the sky, shattering it like glass. Beyond the broken sky, infinite white figures—each three meters tall—filled the void, descending upon the world.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

The ground trembled with each landing as the white beings—SEIDES—began to devour everything. Trees, animals, even the very earth itself was consumed by their hunger.

The sect master watched in horror as the vast sky now shattered was almost filled with two eyes. A Rank 3 being eyes were opened and it was gazing upon this lowly world from the Cosmos. It was like a higher being looking at the world of ants. The two eyes, vast and green, dominated the shattered sky.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Time, space, laws—they bent and fractured under his gaze, as if past, present, and future were colliding.

"This is the power of a Rank 3 being," she thought in awe and terror. His presence alone was reshaping the world.

"It's over," the sect master declared, her voice heavy with finality.

"Sect master, what do you mean?" her disciples asked, their swords still drawn, trembling with fear.

"Our existence, our history and this world itself… It will all be erased," she whispered, her words sending shockwaves through the ranks. The elders fell to their knees as they landed, stunned into silence. The disciples weapons all fell down beneath their feets.

Across the planet, the SEIDES devoured everything in their path, and the beings of this world, desperate and defiant, raised their weapons to fight back.

Back at the Quinlan Sect…

"I won't die like this. I can't. My parents are waiting for me," a young outer disciple cried out, her sword raised as she charged at the nearest SEIDES.

Clang!

Her sword shattered against its skin. The SEIDES turned, its hand extending toward her. "Food," it muttered.

In a heartbeat, it lifted her, draining her life force until only bones remained, then disintegrated her body into dust, absorbing her entirely.
