Chapter 220 - Colored Box

Chapter 220 - Colored Box

For the first time in her life, Xiu Mei was quite thankful that she was still mute at the moment. She stood stiffly before the pharmacist, holding out her mobile with her hand slightly shaking.

As soon as the pharmacist read what was written, she glanced at her and flashed a knowing smile. She instantly avoided her gaze feeling embarrassed about the situation.

"Would you also like to purchase some of these?" And then the pharmacist pointed to the boxes lined up just beside the cash register.

Her eyes followed where she was pointing at and saw the colorful boxes. Her face flushed but she seriously thought it over. A few seconds later, she lightly nodded her head grabbing a box without looking at it and immediately handed it over.

As soon as she returned to the car, she was momentarily stupefied realizing what she just bought.

The morning-after pill was a given but the other box.... Mhm.

Wasn’t that practically telling Lu Chen to jump on her?

No, Xiu Mei. It’s not, okay. Let’s calm down. This... this is just for... uhm... in case of emergency?

Yes? Yes. Yes, for emergencies. Okay.

Xiu Mei distracted herself by grabbing the morning-after pill and gulping it down immediately. Then she quickly hid the paper bag behind her noting inside her head to get it once they arrive at home.

But just like any other forgetful human, our dearest Xiu Mei forgot to grab the small paper bag from the car while she went straight back to her room.

Ignoring the strange looks on the servant’s faces, Xiu Mei opened the door of her room and was stupefied by the presence of the two animals relaxing on the floor and her bed.

"...."

She hurriedly closed the door and ran downstairs to find the butler.

’Why are the pets inside my room?’ She wrote down.

"It was the Master who allowed them to stay in your room for the time being." The butler respectfully replied answering her question.

... Lu Chen did?

’...Why?’

"Unfortunately, he did not state anything after giving his instructions, Madame."

’... Okay.’

Letting the butler return to his duties, she stood at the foot of the stairs with her head raised looking at the second floor upstairs. And then she saw a maid rushing downstairs as if someone was chasing her life though she didn’t forget to greet her even if she looked so frightened.

Xiu Mei scratched the back of her ear.

So that’s why the servants are being weird today ah. It seems like they were too scared to go upstairs lest they meet the two animals resting on the second floor.

She wondered whether Lu Chen would be sued by the servants for abuse? Though it’s more like mental abuse.

She was still slightly scared of King and Lucia but she gathered her courage and returned to her room. are still in the same position as when she left them.

King and Lucia didn’t even look at her and continued their activities. So Xiu Mei just went on her way and changed into cleaner clothes before stopping at the side of her bed.

She glanced at the napping tiger and was uncertain whether Lucia would suddenly jump on her if she disturbs her sleep.

After thinking for a minute, she thought to just sleep in a different room today but before she could take a step, King suddenly let out a growl waking up Lucia. Xiu Mei froze, stunned by the sudden growl as she warily watched Lucia waking up from her slumber.

But it seems like her concerns are insignificant since Lucia didn’t get angry being woken up. She just stared at Xiu Mei for a few seconds, let out a purr before jumping off the bed and settling herself at the corner of the room which was the farthest from King.

Xiu Mei watched the development before her and after ensuring that nothing big would probably happen once she falls asleep. Also considering that it wasn’t her first time to fall asleep beside the two animals.

She lied on the bed and glanced at the two animals for the last time before going to sleep.

Really, Lu Chen was so amazing. Training and disciplining a tiger and lion so well.

At the Xiu Family’s side, Xiu Mei’s mother and her grandparents are anxiously standing outside Xiu Min’s room. They weren’t allowed to stay inside his room and it’s already been almost two days after his surgery yet there were still no signs of him waking up. No wonder they got so anxious.

It hasn’t been that long when their family’s youngest daughter just woke up from her recent coma and now the eldest is in this situation. Lately, a lot of things are happening around them that it’s hard to keep putting up their guards from anyone trying to harm them.

Yu Shi Huang stared at her eldest son at the other side of the glass window, anxiously praying for him to wake up and recover. Xiu Min was shot at his chest, the bullet hitting a few centimeters away from his heart. If it weren’t for the immediate first-aid, he would have died minutes after he was shot.

Her husband was away for work with her second son. And her son-in-law has been actively assisting them all throughout while their eldest son is in this situation.

Yu Shi Huang couldn’t help but grieve.

Why was this happening to her family? To her sons and daughters?

She was used to having her families’ life at stake due to their line of work, but seeing her children in such a difficult situation was bring her so much pain.

She was filled with anger as she thought of the people behind all of these. They are the ones who kept harming her family like this. And her daughter, Xiu Mei who was scarred since she was young. They will pay for this. And Yu Shi Huang never fails to pay back.
