Chapter 47
C47 – A Different Heaven
After a considerable time had passed, the pond’s surface had stilled, yet there was no sign of the black gorilla reemerging.
Was it dead?
Unable to contain his curiosity any longer, Lee Tian emerged from behind the bushes and approached the water’s edge to peer into the pond.
It resembled a stagnant pool, utterly devoid of life.
The depths were shrouded in darkness, suggesting a bottomless abyss ready to devour anything that ventured too close.
Yet the water was crystal clear, with such high visibility that one could spot fish gliding along the bottom.
The presence of fish meant the water was not dead after all.
Why, then, couldn’t he catch sight of the black gorilla?
Abruptly, a splash shattered the serene surface of the water.
Lee Tian plunged in.
He was determined to uncover the truth.
But the moment he submerged, he was overwhelmed by a sensation of sinking!
Despite being an accomplished swimmer in his past life, he now found himself struggling to swim, on the verge of drowning.
At that critical moment, a fish swam past him.
[Host has killed a Low Rank Level 3 fish. Experience Points +3, Evolution Points +0!]
[Congratulations to the Host for acquiring the swimming fish talent: ‘Aquatic Affinity’!]
Lee Tian immediately utilized his newfound talent, Aquatic Affinity, and instantly felt at ease.
He took a deep breath and it seemed he could stay submerged for ten days without the need for air!
Descending into the murky depths, he followed the ‘abyss’ downward. The deeper he went, the more enveloping the darkness became, and a refreshing coolness began to seep into his body.
Before long, the cool sensation turned into an icy cold that threatened to freeze him solid.
Now, he was blind to the light ahead, only able to discern faint glimmers when he looked up towards the surface. All around him was an impenetrable darkness and silence.
It was as if he had entered his own mind, cut off from all sound.
Though he could hear nothing and see nothing of his surroundings, he detected a potent scent of blood in the water.
He surmised that this blood must belong to the black gorilla.
Suddenly, a dim glow appeared before him!
Lee Tian’s heart leapt with excitement. That had to be another way out!
It appeared that the black gorilla had indeed escaped to another place through the water.
He immediately dove down, making his way to a spot where light filtered through.
There was a stone wall here, with a luminous hole piercing through it.
The hole was massive, akin to the size of a train tunnel!
Lee Tian glided into it with the current.
Once inside, he was greeted by countless beams of light streaming down from above, illuminating the hole.
It appeared there was another exit above. The black gorilla must have retreated there to heal!
Such a hidden sanctuary was truly difficult to find. Without following the scent of blood, Lee Tian would never have discovered this hidden realm!
He surfaced on the other side of the lake, cautiously slowing his ascent to avoid startling the black gorilla.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
At last, the water gently parted, revealing a black head.
It was Lee Tian.
His eyes broke the surface, scanning the surroundings.
He found himself in a vast cave, astonishingly spacious!
Yet, the entrance of the cave resembled a skylight more than anything.
Beyond the expansive opening lay the blue sky and white clouds, along with the blinding sunlight!
The sun’s rays streamed through the entrance, casting light directly into the pond and reaching all the way to its depths.
