Chapter 1349: Regigigas descends
Since Gengar and Mismagius had obtained the Life Crystal from Yuga's encounter with Master level Parasect, they had remained inactive in the Shadow Space. If it weren't for Yuga sensing that their life force was still strong, they would have assumed something had happened to them.
Later, after asking Palossand, who was also in the Shadow Space, Yuga learned that the two of them had fallen into a deep sleep after absorbing the Life Crystal.
Now, they had finally digested the Life Crystal and woke up, radiating an aura befitting Champion level Pokémon!
After Gengar and Mismagius emerged, they floated on either side of Yuga, coldly staring at the endless shadows. Suddenly, they both let out a strange shriek.
There seemed to be magical power in that shriek, instantly stunning the shadows. All the shadows stopped moving in response to the eerie cries.
At that moment, Gengar and Mismagius suddenly opened their mouths wide. Their bodies, capable of shifting at will, made their mouths grow instantly to resemble massive blood-red gaping maws.
From these gaping maws, an intense sucking force suddenly erupted. All the shadows were pulled towards the mouths of Gengar and Mismagius, who then devoured them.
The shadows seemed unwilling to be consumed. They struggled and let out mournful howls, and the unearthly pitch of their cries caused Yuga's eardrums to ache.
Before long, all the shadows in the sky were consumed by Gengar and Mismagius, leaving the sky clear. However, the ripples caused by the blood sacrifice remained, distorting the view.
After finishing their feast, Gengar, feeling playful, let out a satisfied burp, patted its round belly, and gave Yuga a thumbs up.
Once the shadows were devoured, Yuga could vaguely sense that the aura around Gengar and Mismagius had grown a little stronger.
But Yuga didn't have time to think about that now. He turned to the group and said, "We should hurry and go after Marshadow."
The ripples in the sky were now showing signs of closing.
After recalling his Pokémon, Yuga rode on Dragonite, with Celebi, Gengar, Mismagius, and Dusknoir flying toward the ripples.
However, when Yuga entered the ripples riding Dragonite, it felt as though something collided with him, almost causing him to fall from the sky.
Could there be some kind of restriction to entering the ripples? Or was it Marshadow's doing?
Yuga leaned toward the second possibility—Marshadow must have set up an obstacle to prevent him from entering and causing trouble.
Gengar and Mismagius, seeing this, flew closer to the ripples and looked inside. Their eyes suddenly flashed with red light, and the ripples, which had been shrinking, trembled violently. Gengar and Mismagius then plunged into the ripples, disappearing from sight.
They're in?
As Yuga was still in shock, Gengar's head suddenly popped out from the ripples, and it waved at Yuga with a mischievous grin. Only then did Yuga, along with Celebi and the others, follow Gengar into the ripples.
This time, the entry was smooth, and there were no more incidents of collisions.
When they emerged from the ripples, Yuga and the others found themselves in a pale, vast space. It was an expanse of pure white, with nothing in sight, yet it felt endless.
"Where are we supposed to go?"
For a moment, Yuga didn't know how to track Marshadow's whereabouts.
"Gengar~ Gengar~"
"Mismagius~ Mismagius~"
At that moment, Gengar and Mismagius both pointed in the same direction. The space was disorienting, and Yuga couldn't tell which way was which, but his intuition told him that the direction Gengar and Mismagius pointed to was the right one.
In fact, after devouring Marshadow's shadows, Gengar and Mismagius could vaguely sense Marshadow's position.
"Let's hurry and chase after it. If we're too late, it might do something bad."
Yuga quickly led his Pokémon to pursue.
In this disorienting space, Yuga had no idea how long they had been flying. Finally, they saw a massive shape in the distance. From the outline, Yuga recognized it as the legendary sleeping Pokémon Regigigas.
As they got closer, Yuga realized that Regigigas was much larger than he had imagined. The three stone pillars, once towering like a small mountain, now seemed like mere children compared to it.
However, Yuga wasn't too surprised. After all, this was a legendary Pokémon capable of shifting tectonic plates, so its enormous size was expected.
Having been asleep for so long, Regigigas was covered in moss, and some areas were even rusted, looking like a lifeless giant stone.
At this moment, Marshadow stood atop Regigigas' head, while the three Regis, under its control, formed a triangle around Regigigas. Seven energy lights on the pillars were flashing violently.
When Yuga arrived, the energy points on the three Regis shot out beams of light—brown, ice blue, and silver—together striking Regigigas' body.
Yuga had no idea what Marshadow was trying to do, but he knew he had to stop it.
Ninetales and Nana emerged from their Poké Balls once again, and along with Dusknoir and Celebi, they attacked the three Regis and Marshadow.
Seeing that Yuga had caught up, Marshadow's eyes filled with fury. It jumped off Regigigas' body and used Shadow Sneak. A shadow leapt from beneath it, swallowing the attacks from Ninetales, Celebi, Nana, and Dusknoir.
At this critical moment, it was imperative to seal Regigigas, and Marshadow couldn't afford to let Yuga ruin its plans.
Having just absorbed the life force of two Master-level Pokémon, Marshadow's temporary surge in power hadn't worn off. For a brief moment, it single-handedly blocked the combined attacks of Ninetales, Dusknoir, Celebi, and Nana.
Meanwhile, the three Regis were speeding up their efforts to seal Regigigas. When their beams of light dissipated, a white halo appeared above Regigigas' head.
With the halo about to encircle Regigigas, Yuga quickly released all of his Pokémon and shouted, "Everyone, stop them!"
Upon hearing this, the Pokémon immediately charged forward, and at the same time, Gengar and Absol Mega Evolved. Multi-colored attacks struck the white halo and the three Regis.
As the Pokémon's attacks hit the white halo, its brilliance dimmed considerably. It seemed as if it was about to dissipate, but then, Marshadow let out a sharp shriek. It shook off the encircling attacks of Ninetales, Celebi, Dusknoir, and Nana, its speed astonishing.
Boom, boom, boom...
A series of dull thuds rang out as Marshadow, moving with rapid flashes, knocked Absol, Venusaur, Dragonite, and Florges flying. In the end, the halo landed on Regigigas.
Seeing this, Marshadow finally showed a sly grin on its cold face. The seal was almost complete!
But before it could even enjoy the moment, the white halo surrounding Regigigas suddenly turned red, and with a loud boom, it exploded.
Marshadow's face froze.
"Li~ Li~ Li~ Li~"
The three pairs of enormous energy points on Regigigas' body flickered violently, even beginning to emit eerie red light, creating a highly ominous atmosphere.
Yuga, who had been about to celebrate Regigigas' awakening, was also stunned. Even though this was his first time seeing Regigigas, he could tell that something was wrong from the situation.
Boom!!!
Regigigas suddenly struck, its massive palm grabbing the still-dazed Marshadow, while the other hand swept out.
"Everyone, get back!" Yuga shouted, quickly flying upwards on Dragonite. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Chimecho used its psychic power to make Venusaur vanish with a blink, while Lapras carried Florges up using Waterfall. Charizard and Dusknoir both pulled the large Absol, swiftly dodging.
Other Pokémon, such as Gengar, Mismagius, Vivillon, Nana, and Celebi, who could fly, had already vanished without a trace. Only the three Regis controlled by Marshadow were directly swept away.
Fortunately, Regigigas had the Slow Start ability, or it would have been uncertain whether they could evade. Only Marshadow, stunned for a moment, was caught.
"Marshadow~"
Seeing the seal fail, Marshadow became extremely agitated, struggling wildly in Regigigas' palm. But its small size made it seem like the Monkey King in Buddha's palm compared to Regigigas.
"Marshadow~"
The frenzied Marshadow began throwing Shadow Balls at Regigigas without any restraint, but Regigigas showed no reaction, only tightening its grip on Marshadow.
"Marshadow~"
Marshadow's cries grew increasingly wild and painful.
The energy points on Regigigas' body flickered faster, and its movements became more erratic. As its massive form lifted off the ground, Yuga finally spotted the temple Marshadow had been seeking.
However, under Regigigas' foot, the temple collapsed with a tremendous crash, turning into a pile of rubble. What had been inside the temple was now impossible to discern.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Regigigas' enormous arms repeatedly slammed against the ground, causing the space to shake violently. Cracks in the space began to appear.
"Not good! The space is going to collapse!" Yuga shouted, quickly recalling all the Pokémon into their Poké Balls and shadow space. He and Celebi immediately sped toward the exit.
Not sure how long they had been flying, Yuga saw cracks spreading rapidly across the space, some of which even brushed past him.
By the time they reached the exit, Yuga and Celebi leaped into the waves, just as the space itself began to collapse.
Boom... Boom...
After flying out, Yuga and Celebi finally breathed a sigh of relief, only to hear a tremendous noise behind them. Cracks in the sky began to form.
From one of the rifts, Regigigas' arm reached out; from another, its thigh stomped down. With a series of explosions, Regigigas descended into the Guli Mountains, still holding the screaming Marshadow in its hand.
The fragments of the three guardian pillars and the temple fell alongside Regigigas from the rift, landing somewhere deep in the Guli Mountains.
The Pioneer Corps and the rulers who had been battling the wild Pokémon suddenly heard a loud crash. Looking up, they saw Regigigas' giant figure falling into the depths of the Guli Mountains.
One of the mountains was smashed into pieces by its fall.
At this moment, Regigigas' Slow Start effect had already worn off. It swiftly rose from the ground, swinging its enormous arms, randomly slapping at the mountains.
The earth trembled, forests were destroyed, and peaks collapsed one after another. Regigigas, whose mind was in chaos, brought a massive disaster to the Guli Mountains, which it had long protected.
Regigigas reached out with one hand, effortlessly picking up a massive mountain, and with a casual squeeze, crushed it; its foot trampled over a river, causing the river to immediately dry up or change course.
"Goo goo goo~"
"Chirp chirp chirp~"
"Awoooo~"
The forest's Pokémon scattered in panic, fleeing for their lives.
The forest around Regigigas became a chaotic mess. The wild Pokémon, which had been fighting among themselves, had no time to think about territory anymore as they buried their heads and ran for their lives.
Boom~
Regigigas slammed its massive leg onto the ground, triggering an earthquake. The surrounding area immediately began to tremble and shake.
Seeing the Guli Mountains suffering such devastation because of Regigigas, Yuga knew that if they didn't stop it, this catastrophe would only continue to grow.
Regigigas' mind had been thrown into disarray due to the failed seal by Marshadow. Yuga quickly instructed Chimecho and Celebi to use Heal Bell, while Florges employed Aromatherapy, trying to calm Regigigas' chaotic thoughts.
But it was no use.
When the gentle approach didn't work, Yuga had no choice but to take a more forceful one. He released all of his Pokémon once more and said to them, "Let's defeat Regigigas together!"
"Florges~"
"Gengar~"
"Venusaur ~"
"Chimecho~"
The Pokémon all responded to Yuga, and under his command, they launched their attacks.
First, Chimecho flew to the top of Regigigas' head, opening its Gravity field, causing Regigigas to momentarily freeze in its movements.
However, the pause didn't last long. Regigigas, breaking free from the gravity field, was about to swipe at Chimecho when Florges and Venusaur had their attacks ready.
Venusaur used Vine Whip, and with Florges's enhancement, the attack expanded like a massive rolling serpent through the forest. It quickly grew larger and thicker, and in the blink of an eye, it wrapped around Regigigas' legs, preventing it from using its legs to continue destroying the earth beneath Guli Mountains.
The earth's ley lines were the foundation of the land. If the ley lines were destroyed, the area could be turned into a dead zone.
The devastation of the mountains deeply pained Celebi, the Forest Guardian, to the point of unbearable sorrow. It wanted to strike Regigigas in rage but knew it couldn't win.
With its legs immobilized, Regigigas became even more enraged. It swung its arms wildly, sending Charizard and Absol flying. Lapras's Water Gun, Vivillon's Signal Beam, Gengar's Dark Pulse, and Mismagius's Mystical Fire were all deflected by its arms, dissipating into the air.
Dusknoir launched a Fire Punch towards Regigigas, but before it could land, Regigigas blasted it away with a Hyper Beam.
Celebi continued communicating with the forest, requesting the forest to lend its power to Florges and Venusaur. As a result, the vines wrapping around Regigigas' legs grew thicker and thicker.
But this didn't fundamentally solve the problem.
Nana's Moonblast and Ninetales' Fire Blast hit Regigigas successfully, but the damage was negligible.
Seeing this, Yuga furrowed his brows tightly. This wasn't going to work. If Regigigas continued its rampage, the Guli Mountains would be destroyed!
He glanced at Gengar and Absol, who were fighting hard, and made a firm decision.
What do you think?
