Chapter 1348: Pitch-Black Shadow
Chapter 1348: Pitch-Black Shadow
"Marshadow~"
In a fit of rage, Marshadow's form flickered and disappeared from the spot. The next moment, it appeared next to Yuga, raising its fist to strike with Shadow Punch.
Nana swiftly positioned herself between Yuga and Marshadow, using Reflect to block the blow, but she was still instantly sent flying.
Seeing this, Celebi threw several Energy Balls, all hitting Marshadow directly.
Marshadow leaped into the air, unable to find any footing to dodge the attack. Like Nana, it was knocked to the ground.
Boom~
Boom~
Marshadow and Nana both fell to the ground, each creating a large crater where they hit, while Yuga, riding Dragonite, quickly retreated to avoid another attack from Marshadow.
However, just as Yuga and Dragonite flew away from their original position, the attacks of the three Regis, controlled by Marshadow, were already upon them.
Regirock's Sharp Stones, Regice's Ice Beam, and Registeel's Cannon Beam collided. If not for Dragonite's speed, both Yuga and Dragonite would have been obliterated.
Seeing this, Ninetales quickly jumped in front of the Regis, spreading its nine dazzling tails. At the tip of each tail, a fireball ignited, which transformed into fire pillars that shot toward the Regis.
Boom!
The Regis stood their ground and did not dodge, getting engulfed in an ocean of fire.
"Regice~"
"Regirock~"
"Registeel~"
The fierce flames burned on, and strange noises emerged from within. The next moment, the Regis walked out of the flames, their seven energy points flashing continuously on their faces. Though slightly scorched, they appeared unharmed.
Taking on all three Regis was clearly beyond Ninetales' capabilities. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
The energy points on the Regis' faces began to flicker faster and faster. The next moment, Sharp Stones, Ice Beam, and Cannon Beam were all fired toward Ninetales.
Ninetales leaped into the air, narrowly dodging the three attacks.
Seeing this, Yuga said to Celebi, "Celebi, help Ninetales. Marshadow is mine and Nana's responsibility."
"Celebi~"
Celebi nodded and quickly flew away from the battle with Marshadow, landing above the Regis' heads. Using Grass Knot, it caused vines to sprout from the ground, binding the Regis' feet.
Instead of directly attacking, Celebi was more suited for support.
Seeing this, Ninetales focused its energy and unleashed a powerful Flamethrower at Registeel, the one most vulnerable to Fire-type moves and the closest to it. The massive fire-shaped flame engulfed Registeel.
By the time Regirock and Regice broke free from the Grass Knot, Registeel was already engulfed in the searing flames.
The last time Ninetales' Fire Blast didn't deal much damage to the Regis was due to Regice's Ice Wall acting as a shield. But now, that was no longer the case. When the flames dissipated, Registeel awkwardly fell out of the fire.
Had it not been for Registeel's strong defense, it would have likely fallen at that moment.
Meanwhile, Dragonite clashed with Marshadow using Thunder Punch, but was overwhelmed and knocked back along with Yuga. Nana took advantage of this opening and completed her Mega Evolution.
Since the strange white stone had disappeared from Nana's possession, she realized she could now control her Mega Evolution form. To refine this ability, she even sought advice from Absol on how to freely use this power.
Though the reasons for the two Pokémon's Mega Evolutions were different, there were commonalities, and Nana quickly mastered the technique to control her Mega Evolution at will.
That white stone was clearly a treasure of the same level as Absol's unknown species.
Nana also discovered that since she had gained the ability to Mega Evolve freely, the half of her Legendary Aura she had lost due to malicious intent was gradually returning. Her Legendary Aura continuously reshaped the natural talents of her Gardevoir form, and she believed it wouldn't be long before she grew even stronger.
Although she no longer had Celebi's body, Nana found that the Gardevoir's body was quite capable, at least superior in combat talent compared to Celebi's.
Marshadow knocked Yuga and Dragonite back again, advancing to strike. Nana used Teleport to appear in front of it, clashing with Marshadow's Shadow Punch using her own Dazzling Gleam.
Though Nana's combat strength after Mega Evolution was still not on par with Marshadow, it was close. After their exchange, both Pokémon were knocked back, suffering some damage from the skill's impact.
At that moment, Yuga invoked the power of the King of Ghost to try and suppress Marshadow's abilities.
The King of Ghost could enhance the capabilities of allied Ghost-type Pokémon while suppressing the abilities of opposing Ghost-types. However, since Yuga's skill level was too low, it had minimal effect on Marshadow, a Mythical Pokémon. It could only be said to be a small help.
At the moment of the suppression, Marshadow shot Yuga a sharp glance, clearly noticing Yuga's small action. The next second, Marshadow disappeared from its position, reappearing in front of Yuga to throw a punch.
However, Nana had already predicted Marshadow's movement. Before Marshadow could strike, she positioned herself in front of Yuga. A round moon appeared above her head, and a silver beam of light shot out from the moon, heading toward Marshadow.
Boom~
The silver beam swept across, causing the ground to erupt in dust and debris.
Marshadow, halfway through its charge, was forced to stop and quickly spun to use Shadow Sneak, disappearing underground. The next moment, Marshadow reappeared behind Nana.
Caught off guard, Nana was knocked back by Marshadow's punch. Seeing this, Dragonite, noticing the situation in midair, unleashed a Thunderbolt on Marshadow, forcing it to retreat underground with a painful scream.
Taking advantage of the moment, Yuga waved his hand and sent a surge of green energy into Nana's body. Nana's injuries immediately healed halfway.
Since the fortunate encounter with Florges, Yuga had been able to externalize his healing abilities. Although still not as powerful as Mr. Kuni'o's, he could now use it effectively in battle.
Meanwhile, with the help of Dragonite and Yuga, Nana was holding her own against Marshadow, but the situation was much less optimistic for Ninetales and Celebi, who were outnumbered three to two.
Although Ninetales had injured Registeel, the Pokémon did not lose its fighting capability. On the contrary, due to Marshadow's mental manipulation, it was unaware of its injuries and didn't care about them at all.
Having broken free from Bind's control, Regirock's bare arm suddenly grew five rocky fingers, which grabbed Celebi mid-air and tightly squeezed it in its hand. Celebi cried out in pain but could not break free from Regirock's immense strength.
Seeing this, Ninetales rushed to save Celebi, with psychic power surging wildly within its body. The powerful mental force pressed down on Regirock, attempting to forcibly make it release Celebi.
At that moment, Registeel appeared behind Ninetales and grabbed its waist, slamming it to the ground. Meanwhile, Regice's Ice Beam hit Ninetales, instantly freezing it in place.
Ninetales was immobilized, encased in ice.
"Celebi~"
Seeing Ninetales frozen because it had tried to save her, Celebi's body emitted green light. She was furious. Seeds glowing with green light fell to the ground, surrounding Regirock.
The seeds took root in the ground, and soon, countless brown roots climbed up Regirock's legs, tightly binding its lower body.
These roots seemed alive, drilling through the seams of Regirock's body, trying to take root within it.
"Regirock~"
The pain from the roots piercing its body caused Regirock to howl in agony. It stretched out its free hand to try and pull the roots off, but the roots grew far faster than it could tear them out.
Not only that, but the roots were continuously siphoning Regirock's energy and transferring it to Celebi. The minor injuries Celebi had sustained quickly healed.
However, no matter how much Regirock howled in pain, it refused to release Celebi, instead continuing to endure the mutual torment.
After freezing Ninetales, Registeel lifted it and was about to smash it against a nearby rock, but at that moment, flames surged from the ice block. In no time, the entire block turned red.
Boom~
With the sound of an explosion, Ninetales broke free from the ice, its body engulfed in flames. The fire spread up Registeel's arm, quickly wrapping the Pokémon in flames.
"Registeel!!!"
Registeel howled in pain as it was consumed by the fire, but like Regirock, it refused to release its grip on Ninetales, no matter how much it suffered.
The waist was Ninetales' weak point, and Registeel's grip caused immense pain. Ninetales let out a sharp shriek, the sound carrying psychic energy that made the surrounding sand and plants tremble violently.
It seemed Registeel was also affected by this sound but still refused to let go.
In intense pain, Ninetales stopped howling and raised all nine tails to strike at Registeel. However, under Marshadow's control, Registeel did not fear death and withstood Ninetales' attacks without releasing its grip.
Though Ninetales was typically meticulous, its strength was undeniable, as evidenced by its being a Level 100 Pokémon. When it went wild, it became incredibly dangerous, with each attack landing with great force.
Yet, none of this seemed to shake Registeel.
At that moment, an energy fluctuation suddenly emanated from Registeel's side. Dusknoir slowly emerged, and with a single punch to Registeel's forehead, it sent the Pokémon tumbling backward, causing it to release Ninetales.
It turned out that the battle on Dusknoir's side had already ended, and its opponent, Hypno, lay unconscious some distance away.
Though Dusknoir could not break through to Level 100 due to its potential limit, it was an absolute powerhouse among Master-level Pokémon, and Hypno stood no chance against it.
Having lived for over a thousand years, Dusknoir's experience far surpassed that of ordinary Pokémon, and such experience naturally translated to combat expertise.
The battle between Florges and the Sandslash was in a favorable position as well. Though Sandslash had not been defeated yet, it was being pressed by Florges and her allies, and its defeat was only a matter of time.
On the ground, Ninetales was in a dire state. Her once-beautiful fur was now disheveled, and her waist had even been shaved bald by Registeel.
"Ninetales!!!"
Dusknoir had initially intended to assist Ninetales, but upon hearing her furious roar, it was forced to retreat. It could only go after Regice instead.
As Ninetales rose from the ground, her fur stood on end due to anger, and her body was enveloped in a blazing red flame that almost became solid.
Registeel had just gotten up when Ninetales leaped onto it, slamming it back to the ground.
Standing on top of Registeel's chest, Ninetales relentlessly slapped its face with her nine tails. Each strike was fiercer than the last, and the flames on her body roasted Registeel, causing its metal body to turn red.
Registeel was slow to react, enduring dozens of blows without any counterattack.
Though Registeel could ignore damage due to Marshadow's control, it did not mean its stamina was limitless. After being burned repeatedly by Ninetales' flames, Registeel's strength was finally depleted, and its head slumped, losing its combat ability.
Out of sheer anger, Ninetales continued to lash out at the fallen Registeel several more times to vent her fury.
Freeing her hands, Ninetales quickly turned to help Dusknoir deal with Regice.
Although Celebi was captured by Regirock, it observed that the parasitic seeds were in a delicate balance with the enemy, and there would be no problems in the short term.
At that moment, Marshadow became uneasy. The three Regis were meant for sealing Regichikas, and there could be no mistakes.
Looking up at the sky, Marshadow noticed the ripple still flashing, but it was growing anxious.
The ripple had a time limit, and if this continued, it might soon disappear!
With this thought in mind, Marshadow clenched its teeth, throwing several shadow balls to force Nana and Dragonite back. Suddenly, a red glow flashed in its eyes.
As the battle continued, Florges and her allies noticed that Sandslash had become still, and soon, its energy began to wane. In an instant, it collapsed into a pile of dried-up rubble.
Nearby, Hypno also showed signs of quick desiccation, rapidly turning into a dried-up corpse.
Seeing this, Yuga furrowed his brow tightly, his gaze now filled with disdain as he looked at Marshadow. This evil Pokémon!
Marshadow had drained the life force from both Sandslash and Hypno.
Having absorbed the life energy of two master-level Pokémon, Marshadow became even more terrifying. A black mist surrounded it, as though it had become possessed.
"Marshadow~"
Marshadow's sharp voice rang out, causing Yuga's ears to hurt. The next moment, countless shadowy figures surged from it, screeching as they rushed towards Yuga and his team, like vengeful spirits.
This was Marshadow's Spectral Thief.
Thanks to the energy absorbed from the two master-level Pokémon, Marshadow's Spectral Thief was particularly powerful. The mountaintop was filled with flying demonic shadows, which almost took humanoid forms. They screeched and clawed as they lunged at Yuga and his team.
The overwhelming presence of the shadows made it difficult for Yuga and his team to see Marshadow or the Three Regis.
The shadows were endless, and whenever Yuga's team scattered one, another would immediately appear to replace it.
At that moment, Marshadow had already disappeared with the Three Regis through the ripple.
As Yuga and his Pokémon were being harassed by the countless shadows, in the shadow space, Gengar and Mismagius, who had remained silent until now, suddenly stirred.
What do you think?
