Lord MMORPG: The Demon Progenietor

Chapter 62 Secret hideout

Xander walked slowly as he was waiting for Harry, Sandra, and Hannah to catch up.

'Seems like they're still digesting what I said.' Xander thought and then sighed as he looked up at the moon. 'I hope mom is okay.'

"Xander."

Xander turned to his side to see Sandra walking beside him with a serious expression.

"I'm with you."

"Huh?" Xander looked at her, confused by her words.

"I said I'm with you. Okay? You don't have to keep so much to yourself." She said with a smile on her beautiful face.

Xander turned and looked at Sandra as her black and white hair fluttered in the wind. She was looking more beautiful as the moonlight graced her delicate fair skin. Her pink lips were even more pronounced under the influence of moon light.

Xander furrowed his brows as he felt his heart tremble a little, not in fear, no. It was something else, something he wasn't familiar with.

'My chest. Why is my heart behaving like this? I feel... weaker for some reason.' He thought in confusion and then shook it off.

"At least you have a super cool background," Sandra suddenly said, pulling Xander out of his thoughts.

"What do you mean?"

"Dude, your father is the leader of a big underground association and now I'm just finding out that they all have powers like you," Sandra spoke as if she couldn't believe Xander right now.

"Your background is not ordinary too." Xander clarified.

"There's really nothing to it. Being the daughter of rich parents, my fate is most likely to get engaged to another rich man's son to form alliances or whatnot." She sighed.

"That doesn't sound... good. You don't get to do things you want?" Xander asked in disbelief.

"Apart from playing games, I don't have any other thing I want to do. Hell, my parents won't even let me out of the house. But games... games are my way to escape this world. The well designed graphics and the immersion makes me just want to live there."

Xander chuckled. "We are really alike."

...

Seeing Sandra and Xander having a conversation Hannah couldn't help but feel jealous about the whole thing.

Seeing Hannah pouting while looking at Sandra Harry couldn't help but admire his friend more. The guy gets girls without any effort. Not fair at all!

"So you like him too huh?" The words came out of his mouth abruptly.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Hannah looked at Harry and her first thought was to deny it. But before she could open her mouth Harry spoke.

"You don't need to even say it. It's written all over your face."

Hearing his words Hannah felt agitated as she could tell how close Xander and Harry was.

"How can you make such conclusions? My expression could mean a lot of things..."

Harry just smiled as Hannah rambled all sorts of excuses to him and of course he wasn't buying any of it.

After another hour of walking they finally got to an abandoned space. Xander looked inside to see that it was a volleyball court with extra space around it for spectators.

"We could've just taken a shuttle car." Hannah complained but Xander and Harry stared at her with wide eyes.

"Do you know how expensive those flying cars are? No, I don't have that kind of money," Xander said before bringing out the piece of paper he found in his apartment.

Hannah only chuckled at his statement and Harry smiled bitterly.

'It's okay to lie sometimes bro.' Harry looked at his honest friend.

After confirming the address Xander looked at the fence made of metal net in their path.

"This is the place." He said as he looked for an entrance.

"How are we going to–"

Sandra's words were cut off by Xander as he jumped over the fence in one leap.

"Well, that answers your question." Harry said and followed his friend.

"Come on. There's no other entrance." Hannah said and lept over the fence.

"Wait for me!" Sandra shouted as she jumped over and followed them from behind.

Their strength as returnees were really helpful.

The rest of the group caught up to Xander who stood there in front of the volleyball court.

"I don't understand. This is the address." Xander said sadly as he looked around and found nothing.

He really hoped to see his dad and mom as he has missed them so much after a lot of life and death experiences.

"Hey. Don't worry about that. You'll find your dad," Harry said in a reassuring tone but deep down he knew that he himself had no way to find Xander's dad.

"It's strange though."

"What?" Xander looked at Harry.

"How can a volleyball court be abandoned? I never even heard of this one before." Harry said as he walked towards the court.

As he stepped on it it was as if the air devoured his leg and he was pulled into the air and vanished.

"Harry!" Xander shouted as he saw the air just swallow his friend.

As Xander was about to walk into the court Harry's head popped out from thin air making Xander startled.

"You guys gotta see this." Harry then went back into the air again... like teleportation of some sort.

Xander looked back at Hannah and Sandra before motioning for them to come too.

Xander stepped through the air, it was like as if he walked through a water fall and he saw Harry standing in front of an abandoned cabin.

"A cabin?" Xander said as he walked towards Harry.

"That's what it looks like on the outside but look." Harry pointed to a button beside the door of the small cabin.

Sandra and Hannah came too and were confused to see a cabin. They were even more confused as they just stepped through thin air.

Harry pushed the button and the door of the cabin, or where the door of the cabin supposed to be just dissapeared to reveal a metal door.

"A hologram." Harry said but before anyone could say anything the metal door opened up by folding sideways. Enjoy new chapters from empire

The inside looked like that of an elevator with bright pink light lines running from top to bottom.

"High-end gravity technology. Where the hell does it lead to?" Harry said as he adjusted his glasses with wide eyes.

"Only one way to find out." Xander said and walked towards the elevator.

"Woah, woah, woah. Let's think this through first. We haven't even studied the area or whether it's faulty–" Hannah's words were cut off as Sandra pulled her.

"Just come on." Sandra said as she pulled Hannah and they entered the elevator.

"It's quite wide. How did it fit inside the small shed?" Hannah said as she looked around at a space that can fit up to fifty people.

"Camouflage and Holograms–" Before Xander could say anymore they began to feel movement and the door of the elevator shut close.

The voice of an AI then rang out.

"Descending in 3... 2... 1!"

"Hold onto something!" Harry shouted as he held onto a metal pipe that was connected from the roof to the floor.

Xander held the walls with the friction from his hands but his legs still left the ground as if he was flying as a whirring sound resounded.

Accompanied by a loud banging sound Xander and his group suddenly felt something pushing them down as if they just fell from a tall building and landed on their feet.

The doors of the elevators opened up to reveal a large underground department. Like an inner field with people moving around with boxes and doing a lot of things, they were all wearing red uniforms.

Xander and his group moved out of the elevator but as soon as they did that a person appeared before them out of nowhere.

It was a man with a scar on his left eye but that did nothing to deprive the world of his good looks. His blue eyes looked menacing and cold as he gazed at Xander.

"Why hide?" He simply said and looked at Xander for an answer.

"Uh–"

"Wrong answer." The man's cold voice resounded and he suddenly vanished.

Xander immediately felt a motion behind him and he suddenly ducked.

It also seemed that his talent [Percieve] from inside the game was active outside too. Or it was from his arcana too?

Anyway, Xander immediately raised his arms to block his face and in the next moment a knee collided with his arm and he was pushed backwards.

"You're strong. Probably a returnee."

Xander looked forward to see the man walking towards him with glowing blue eyes. He looked sideways to see Harry and the others on the floor, not moving at all.

He listened and heard their heartbeat so he calmed down. He then looked back at the tall man with furrowed brows.

"I'm looking... for my da–"

Before Xander could finish his words a foot was approaching his face.
