Chapter 223: Settling In the City (8/8), Arena Tower
Chapter 223: Settling In the City (8/8), Arena Tower
"This is pretty convenient. But we'll only become its true members once we become one of the winners after four days," Aleron clenched his fist. 'I have to win and find more information about top forces. How dare they simply destroy an entire cosmos.'
'Is it the only one they destroyed or more?' Aleron sighed and shook his head as he focused on present matters. 'I'll find out about this as long as I work in this direction.'
Aleron and Shelby entered the pavilion.
This place was beautiful and refreshing. The pavilion was aesthetic and spacy, with one big bed, a kitchen, and a small meditation hall.
Outside was a training ground and a small pond. There was no fence, but the borders between other pavilions were formed by small river streams.
"It seems that we are on a rather big mountain that's part of a mountain chain," Aleron said as he looked at the horizon, painting mountain peaks, clouds, and chaotic storms that occasionally formed and changed the weather.
It was snowing right now, but just a minute ago, the heat was intense, and mountain bases were covered with desert sand.
Aleron and Shelby didn't stay here for long and returned to the city via the teleport ring in the meditation hall of the pavilion.
Aleron contacted Enorin since she was the first one to succeed in completing the Chaos Breathing Art after Aleron and had contacted him via their soul network while they were with Branch Master Lilisa. However, he only received the message after he returned to the city due to the distance and restrictions.
[Aleron: Eno, I am giving you a map of a city's section and a marked place on it. In the territory, there is a house with five rooms. It's not big, but we don't need big. We just need a territory so that we only have to pay tax monthly instead of daily.]
[Aleron: From now on, we can't be seen together when there are eyes around us. I have assumed the role of a recently ascended adventurer with a guardian and a good bit of potential. This is to join an organization and get more information about the big game that's possibly being played by top forces.]
[Enorin: What happened, Master? You sound slightly unsettled and sad.]
[Aleron: Radrata cosmos was destroyed. The people that enslaved our Cosmos Will Rexian
also targeted Radrata cosmos and succeeded in their plan that resulted in the loss of every life in the cosmos.]
Enorin was startled, almost feeling disbelief, but she knew Aleron wasn't lying.
[Enorin: I understand, Master. You want to invade the upper echelon via this method to find out more information while we will continue to nurture ourselves with the sole focus of getting stronger to be your backup when required.]
[Aleron: Yes. For now, go to the territory and register it for yourself because it should be ownerless now that I have killed the group that occupied it. Once I truly become a member of this Prosper Path Alliance, I'll travel a bit now and then, and pick you and other ladies with me one by one while others will run our separate organization and continue to progress alongside.]
Aleron told Enorin about the plan before their talk finished, and they decided to gather at a spot in Chaotic Wilderness.
Chaotic wilderness was the biggest area of the First Chaotic Region and also a place where most of the chaotic phenomena and dungeon spawn occurred. Naturally, it was also the most dangerous.
Aleron was previously here when he killed that group, and this was the best place to meet since others wouldn't be able to put eyes on them.
"We have to wait, so we might as well visit the places in the city that offer Chaos Stones," Aleron said as he looked at the Arena Tower.
This was one of the biggest and tallest structures in this vast city. Only a few other structures compared to this place are grandiose.
Arena Tower.
The most famous and populated place in the city.
It was also the only place that guaranteed earning of Chaos Stones for Paragon-rank powerhouses according to their worth.
And their worth was decided by their power.
Aleron registered his name on the first floor of the tower as a newbie, while Shelby got a direct pass to the top floor since she was a Transcendent-rank powerhouse.
"Shelby will wait for you at the top floor, Master," Shelby said as she hugged Aleron tightly, pressing her breasts on his chest before she kissed his lips and entered the elevator.
"You..." Aleron was startled at Shelby's action.
"Shelby is just trying to cheer you up, Master," Shelby smiled and waved her hand. "Shelby will spoil you more once you reach the top."
The elevator went up like a beam of light while Aleron wryly smiled.
'I have moved forward positively,' Aleron clenched his fist as he took a deep breath and
opened his eyes to a fiery glint that wasn't there before.
'I have to get to the root of this cautiously and carefully,' Aleron walked towards the waiting area and sat down before closing his eyes in meditation.
Around ten minutes later, his name rang on the speakerphone in the waiting room.
[No. 37 Ale Rivenal. Please come to the ring no. 4]
Aleron left the waiting room and arrived at a huge hall approximately three hundred meters in radius size with ten floating platforms two meters off the ground placed at various positions
in the hall.
Aleron arrived on Ring no. 4 as the platforms had big numbers glowing on four sides around their borders.
"So you are my opponent, eh? You look weak."
A crocodile-head humanoid standing three meters tall with a thick tail and a big muscled spike-scaled figure stood across Aleron on the ring. He looked at Aleron, thinking, 'His stats are lower than mine...except for soul. Heh, that's fine. With my killer move that I'll unleash right off the bat, people weaker than me will instantly lose.'
"Mr. Ale Riven," the referee arrived on a floating ball. It was a rat-head humanoid the size of half a meter tall. "You have just registered yourself and applied for a floor upgrade match,
correct?"
"Correct" Aleron nodded.
"Bahahaha, you just registered yourself and directly want to move up a floor?" the crocodile- head man laughed out mockingly.
"Quite please, Mr. Merrock," the referee flatly said before turning to Aleron, "Are you aware of the penalty should you lose in this match?"
"Yeah. I won't be able to apply for a floor upgrade for the next ten days," Aleron nodded.
"Good. Please stand with ten meters of distance between you and get ready. You have one
minute."
"Let's just start. Who the hell wants to wait for one more minute now," Merrock grunted.
"I don't mind," Aleron nodded at the referee and stood in a simple two-fist forward boxing stance. 'I should define my fighting style for now.'
[Astral: Whyy? Mastah doesn't need a specific style since you can create Mystic Skills and can have any style at any time. That's way better!]
[Gachapi: Stupid. Master is going into a kind of undercover mission. He needs to keep a few cards hidden, so Master will define a certain Combat style.]
'Exactly. People at Paragon-rank start to define their fighting style based on the developed traits and skills of their Mystic Paths. I have to do the same even though I don't need to do it.'
"Alright, on the mention of 'Go', make your moves," the referee said before he started the countdown. "Note that once you take a certain amount of damage, you will be teleported out of the ring, and that will be considered your loss."
"Counting," the referee continued.
"One."
"Two."
"Three."
"Go!"
Aleron's pupils fixed on Merrock as he didn't make any move since Merrock didn't hesitate
and was raring to make the first move.
'Just an inflated noob. Humph, You won't survive my killer combo,' Merrock's eyes crackled with lightning before his tail's spikes suddenly became bigger and dangerous, crackling with
lighting.
'Mystic Skill: Shredding Tail Sweet boosted by Spike Burst Magic Print, my Concept, and here goes my 100 Bloodline Essence! Humph, I am overestimating him, but better to be safe than
sorry.'
Aleron saw his opponent moving, and in the next few milliseconds, Merrock's tail with lighting-crackled spikes was right in front of his face.
*Swoosh!*n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Got you!" Merrock grinned, but in the next second, he felt danger bells ringing and saw that
his tail didn't actually strike Aleron at all. 'Afterimage? Illusion? Doppelganger clone?'
'Where is he?!'
Merrock felt confused as he couldn't sense Aleron's aura at all!
But in the next second, he quickly turned around while also activating his full-on defensive
power, using a defense-type mystic skill that enveloped him in a dark green spiked cocoon
with a steel-like structure.
'No....' From inside, he could see a punch coming at him.
A punch that threatened his life and put fear in him. 'Normal Series: Hole in the Space Punch,' Aleron named his first punch that was designed to
put a hole through space-time of fabric itself. It couldn't do that in Chaosverse, but it had
such a power.
And it would attain such a power as long as Aleron continued to get strong.
*BOOM!*
The moment his punch struck the defense-shelled Merrock, the ring's system detected the power was enough to breach through Merrock's defense and even kill him.
'What the fuck?' the Rat-head referee's eyes almost popped out of his sockets as he looked at
the numbers in the crystal pad in his hand.
'What are those traits? They have so many aspects of main elemental attributes weaved into
including space and time...'
[The Winner is Ale Rivenal. You may now proceed to the 2nd Floor of the Arena Tower. Please collect your reward at the 2nd Floor's reception hall.]
