Destroying My Own World

Chapter 171 My life isn't mine anymore.

Uriel was contemplating as she stared at Mykel who seemed to genuinely want to get rid of the power. She then looked at Amaryllis and she could tell how shocked she was and that convinced Uriel that Mykel was really desperate.

She looked at the seeds on the floor in front of her, and then she took them all and stored them inside her chest. Seeing that, Amaryllis canceled her power on Uriel and let her stand up.

"I can't promise you that I can help you, but you can have my word that I'll do what I can," Uriel said as she stood up and looked at Mykel in his chair. "I'll tell him about your situation and ask for his guidance," Uriel pointed out.

"Fair enough," Mykel said as he weakly smiled at Uriel.

Amaryllis opened a portal for Uriel to let her go back to Earth, but when Uriel was about to enter the portal she stopped. She turned around and looked at Mykel as she raised her hand.

"Can you do me a favor, Mykel?" Uriel asked with her eyebrows raised. "The situation down there on Earth. You must have known about what's going on with The Lord's disciples, your former partner, Sasha, and the others," Uriel added.

"Are you talking about Lucifer and the Princes of Hell that's roaming on Earth right now?" Mykel asked back.

"Yes. He's trying to corrupt them all, and we as their guardians can't do anything about it because Lucifer manipulated the system. If you can, please save them," Uriel said with a worried expression.

"I think you're asking too much because there's no benefit for me from doing that," Mykel said and stared Uriel in the eye. "I don't have any business with them, and that's exactly why I haven't done anything to them," Mykel pointed out.

Uriel smiled as she nodded her head with understanding.

"You know about it, don't you? About the Caveat Scroll," Uriel asked, but Mykel didn't say anything and didn't bother to think about it. "I see. So you have no plan on saving her or Earth. I wonder why it's so complicated for me to understand you," Uriel said and then entered the portal.

Amaryllis closed the portal and made sure that Uriel left Earth by observing her like a satellite. After she was sure that Uriel had left Earth, she approached Mykel and looked at him with a confused look.

"Are you really that desperate?" Amaryllis asked.

"Yes," Mykel answered as he stared Amaryllis in the eye. "This is the second time I have seen her cry. I don't want to make her sad anymore," Mykel added and smiled gently.

"But you're asking The Lord's help, the being that you despise the most. If the others know about this, they will think that what we have achieved this far is pointless," Amaryllis pointed out and looked at Mykel who looked exhausted.

"Let's keep it a secret from everyone. For Elena, she might already know since she can feel what I feel and see into my memories," Mykel said as he stood up and fixed his hair. "Why don't you focus on everyone's training? I'm going to see Elena.

"You know where she is? Because I don't," Amaryllis asked with her eyebrows raised.

"I know where she is," Mykel nodded and then warped away.

Mykel walked into the hallway and opened the door to one of the penthouses in the building. He didn't look around and knew where he was going, and when she entered the bedroom, he saw Beldathiel hugging Elena who was sleeping next to her. They both were asleep and they looked cute together which made Mykel smile.

Beldathiel slowly opened her left eye and looked at Mykel sitting next to the bed across from her. She slowly put her index finger on her lips, asking him to not make any noise, and then she smiled with her eyes closed.

"(I heard about what happened, and she couldn't stop sobbing until she exhausted herself to sleep)" Beldathiel said and hugged Elena tightly to make her more comfortable. "(You have crossed the line, and I believe this is the second line you have crossed)" Beldathiel suddenly smiled.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"(I never thought she would be too attached to me even though I gave her the freedom to do whatever she wants. I don't really understand why she ended up staying by my side all the time)" Mykel said as he stared at Elena's back with her long black hair covering her back.

"(Because she knows that her dad is the best thing she has. You can't stop her from liking you either, right? And I think that's the consequence that you have to bear because of your own action)" Beldathiel stared at Mykel with her lazy eyes. "(Even so, you have proved to yourself that you have done a great job to raise her. She's obedient, independent, and can adapt to any kind of situation, and she's still the happiest woman in the world. And yet, you asked her to kill you. That's just too cruel, Mykel)" Beldathiel frowned.

Mykel didn't realize how cruel he was to Elena if Beldathiel hadn't mentioned that to him. He was speechless and felt guilty for what he did to Elena, and Beldathiel could see that on his face.

"(I'll apologize to her)" Mykel nodded his head with understanding.

"(You don't have to apologize to her. She knows that you don't want this to happen either. Just assure her that there's nothing to be worried about)" Beldathiel smiled gently at Mykel.

"(I will. Thank you, Belda)" Mykel said and smiled back at her. "(Can you tell her to meet me in my office once she's awake? I want to bring her somewhere nice)" Mykel asked.

Beldathiel nodded and then went back to sleep as Mykel left to wait for Elena to wake up.

Mykel watched the news and realized he missed a lot of things that had happened around the world. The European Union and the Guild League managed to reach The Deep, and those were the words they used when they reached further inside the portal. They found something shocking about the world inside the portal, and that was about the Dukes of Hell.

People started to learn more about that from historians and demonologists to gather information. As far as Mykel remembered all the Dukes of Hell from the first to the fourth layers had been consumed by Aurea, and there shouldn't be that many left. He wondered if Lucifer made them believe they had encountered the Dukes of Hell and deceived them or if he brought the Dukes of Hell from the lower layers to the surface.

Mykel waited until night and he never thought he had to wait for ten hours in the office. When he was deep in thought, he saw Elena through the glass wall and entered his office. She looked like she didn't want to see him yet, but in the end, she came for him.

"I don't really want to go anywhere right now," Elena said as she stood in front of the door.

"Even for a drink?" Mykel asked with his eyebrows raised.

"That would be nice," Elena smiled weakly.

Mykel approached Elena and then grabbed her hand as he led her to the elevator. He didn't let go of her hand and she stared at it as they went to the lobby. Mykel brought her to the bar just the two of them inside.

"I'm not going to ask you to do it anymore," Mykel said as he looked at Elena holding a bottle of beer. "I think you already know that and I'm getting help to get rid of this power," Mykel added.

"I already know about that as well," Elena replied and then emptied the bottle. "You have really gone that far to get rid of it," Elena looked at Mykel and was touched by it.

"I realize that my life doesn't belong just to me anymore," Mykel paused. "You have the right to have half of my life, and I'm being selfish. I realize if you were in my shoes, I wouldn't want to do it as well. From now on, I will do whatever you want or say" Mykel continued and looked at Elena.

"Only half?" Elena asked with her eyebrows raised.

"Don't be too greedy. The other half is for your little sister, Sasha," Mykel answered with a smile.

"Fair enough," Elena rested her head on Mykel's shoulder and she felt a lot better. "I love you," Elena said quietly.

"I love you too, Elena," Mykel replied.
