Chapter 172 The final results.
Jeanne dropped her sword, or at least what remained of the Blood Sword of her that she had swung hundreds of thousands of times. The sword did exactly for what it was created and she finally could rest after an endless battle against Mykel's clone.
"Congratulations, you're the last one to finish the training," Amaryllis appeared the moment the clone was defeated.
"I'm surprised and not at the same time. Looks like everyone is better than me now," Jeanne chuckled in relief, but deep down she was disappointed in herself.
"You're disappointed, but you only look at the empty side of the half-empty glass," Amaryllis said as she approached at the Homunculus that could no longer turn itself into Mykel. "You have no idea that the Homunculus that you defeated is different from the others. Yours is more powerful and is currently the strongest Homunculus that I have created so far," Amaryllis pointed out and stored the Homunculus to be reused.
"Different? How big is the difference?" Jeanne asked as she caught her breath.
"Not that big," Amaryllis paused. "From the current Mykel, I would say," Amaryllis continued.
Amaryllis created a new Homunculus without Mykel knowing, and she was using the blood that he let Hera drink a while ago. She created something dangerous behind Mykel's back, but she had anticipated that something bad happened.
"What? You're not doing this to cheer me up, right?" Jeanne asked and looked at Amaryllis in disbelief.
"Why would I do that? I don't see any benefit from cheering you on. I'm not someone who can help people emotionally, or at least not yet," Amaryllis answered and she looked serious about it. "Your new power might be unparalleled, and perhaps equal to Luciel's new power," Amaryllis pointed out as she looked at Jeanne from top to bottom.
"What does she have now?" Jeanne asked.
"Well. Why don't you ask Luciel about it yourself? Everyone is waiting for you in the palace. We are having a party for the outstanding results of all of your training," Amaryllis answered and opened a portal for them.
Jeanne nodded and entered the portal with Amaryllis, and she was greeted by everyone. She looked at the hall was filled with food and drink, and some of them were already drunk from the atmosphere.
"Want to spar, Jeanne?" Aurea asked as she wrapped her arm around Jeanne's neck from behind.
"Are you being serious? Look at me, I'm covered in sweat and I haven't recovered from the fight yet," Jeanne stared at Aurea from the corner of her eyes. "I heard that you killed the most Homunculus from the others, and I heard that Luciel is a bit jealous of you," Jeanne asked as she was brought to the table by Aurea.
"Kills are just numbers. I lost to her and it didn't even last a second," Aurea answered and she didn't look pissed at all. She was so laid-back and unbothered by it which was quite odd for Jeanne to see her like that.
"How long did I leave? Are you still the same Aurea that I know?" Jeanne asked and drank an iced tea as she stared at Aurea with a confused look.
Aurea only smiled and enjoyed her wine, and then she explained to Jeanne about the current power chart. She explained about everyone's upgraded skill and who was in the top ten at that moment excluding Jeanne since they had no idea what new power she possessed.
The one who sat on top was Luciel with her [Absolute] skill that allowed her to deal pure damage and couldn't be blocked or avoided. Jeanne wasn't shocked why Luciel was on top since the skill was too powerful even in her eyes.
The one who got second shocked Jeanne because it was Gerrard with his [String of Fate] skill. She couldn't believe how powerful that skill was since he was able to control his opponent physically. Gerrard managed to hold Luciel for a whole minute before he slipped and failed to control her whole body which led to his death.
The one who got third place was Beldathiel with her [Inertia] skill, and it was acceptable since her power had reached its peak. She was the only one who could match with Luciel's power until she decided to give up since it was a stalemate. Her will and Luciel's will were so strong that they held each other's power back.
The one who sat in fourth place was Aurea with her upgraded skill called [Lunacy]. A skill that she had used on Uriel and almost drove her crazy with that skill, and it was a combination between [Whisper of Death] and [Atrocity].
The fifth place was taken by Brynhilde because she managed to breakthrough two times. She was given [Integrity] skill, and it got upgraded into [Unity] skill, and then it got upgraded again and became [Oneness]. The skill made her absorb any external factors including pain and wounds, and turned them into her source of power.
The sixth place was Gunnar with his new skill called [Outlast] which made him overcome anything. It was different from the [Inertia] skill that Beldathiel had since he wasn't invincible unlike her. He still had limitations and he said that he hadn't mastered it yet which could have made him stronger and sat in fourth place.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
The seventh place was Manna blessed with [Magnificence] skill after her emotion skill [Generous]. It made her the Jack-of-all-trades who mastered every single aspect of combat sense. She became a master in all kinds of weapons, and magic, and lastly, her physical body could be said to be the second strongest from Aurea who took the first place.
The eighth place was taken by two people which were Rozan and Shelly because they were given the same skill called [Inquisitiveness]. Although they were given the same original emotion, the upgraded skill was like the sun and moon. Rozan was given a skill called [Brilliance] that made him extremely dangerous with his magic and wit. Shelly was given a skill called [Inanity] which made her capable of creating something impossible to be possible including making her own magic.
The ninth place was taken by Lillith with her upgraded skill called [Abysmal] which made her a living nightmare. Her power took other people's powers and made it hers or to manipulate other powers and made it a double-edged sword. She was the only one who managed to hurt Luciel, but unfortunately, Luciel's [Absolute] skill didn't affect herself since her power only worked on her will to hurt someone.
The tenth place was taken by Lyneth which shocked everyone including herself because she had no idea her power had been upgraded. Her original skill was [Devotion] had been turned into [Vesper] skill which was similar to Beldathiel's dice but without a backlash. She was the only one who could defeat everyone including Luciel with just her thoughts.
"What? Then she should be in the first place," Jeanne looked at Aurea in disbelief.
"She's not in the team, so her power isn't really that impactful to us. She also didn't want to join the team because Elena forbid her to be part of the team," Aurea answered as she munched on the steak.
"Right. Speaking of Elena, why is she not on the chart? There's no way she isn't the strongest," Jeanne asked as she looked at Elena who was sitting next to Mykel and Lyneth, laughing and smiling. Your journey continues on empire
"Honestly, I don't know," Aurea answered as the steak hung in her mouth. She then put it all inside her mouth like a snake. "She said that she doesn't want to use her power against her own friends. She wants us to see it in the battle later and decide whether she's in the top ten charts or not," Aurea continued after she swallowed the whole steak.
Aurea informed Jeanne about the rest and their powers, and even though they weren't in the top ten, they barely were on the same level as them. In the end, the training was fruitful and Amaryllis was so delightful about it.
"So? What about you? I have told you their secrets, I think it's time for you to tell yours," Aurea asked as she stared at Jeanne.
"Benevolence, and then it got upgraded into Altruism," Jeanne answered as she poured herself a cup of wine. "Just not long ago, the Altruism got upgraded into Austerity and that was when I managed to defeat the Homunculus," Jeanne added and then drank her wine.
"Wait, you went three breakthroughs?! That's bullshit!" Aurea shouted and looked at Jeanne in disbelief. Everyone could hear her and everyone was curious about Jeanne. "Anyway, what does the skill do?" Aurea asked and everyone was surrounding Jeanne.
Jeanne looked around with a smile, "It's a secret."
What do you think?
