Chapter 181 Sea Of Terantia
Silently leaving the crowning ceremony, Lei Zhen didn't wish to have another farewell with Kate.
It would have been repetitive and pointless to do it again.
His chapter with Yors Castle had officially ended the moment she received the crown, and it was time for him to venture out.
After all, Yors Castle was still considered to be a lower region no matter how many events had passed. And to increase his experience and skills, he could not afford to dilly-dally around in Yors Castle.
"Have the carriage been prepared?" Lei Zhen asked.
"I don't wish to be spotted when leaving, especially Kate." He added.
"Rest assured, Chancellor. Everything has been arranged already." Howard bowed his head slightly and responded.
With that said, the two discreetly boarded the carriage that headed straight to Strandland Port.
But little did Lei Zhen know, his exit had long been realized by Kate. It was just that she didn't wish to make things difficult for him and allowed him to cleverly think he was slick.
pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ As Lei Zhen remained ignorant and thought he was slick, the carriage arrived at Strandland Port.
"We have arrived, Sir." The carriage driver informed them from the outside.
Lei Zhen nodded his head, hopped off the carriage, and gave the driver a silver coin as a tip.
The driver had a blissful look when he was paid a silver coin for the service. Normally, their wage would only be around 10 copper coins per ride, so having a silver coin was a blessing.
Seeing the driver being so happy, Lei Zhen smiled briefly behind the mask and walked toward Caprice.
Sometime later, he was greeted by the crewman working on the ship.
All of them were filled with vibrant life and energized at their work.
Seeing that, Lei Zhen was secretly amazed by their work conduct and wanted to praise Howard for having a good eye in terms of hiring quality people.
After all, it would have been horrific to imagine if Howard had hired trash people that don't meet the standard and would just laze around.
"Get ready to set sail soon," Lei Zhen raised his hand and commanded.
With his command, the crewmen hurriedly got to work and prepared to lift the anchor up, readying the procedure to set sail.
While the crewmen got to work, Lei Zhen and Howard went to the Control Room.
Upon entering the Control Room, Lei Zhen noticed Candice was adjusting some of the pipes and mechanisms.
"Have you finished the calculation?" Lei Zhen asked softly.
Hearing Lei Zhen's voice, Candice's body shuddered for a moment before turning around with her head slightly lowered.
"Greetings, Master." She said in a solemn and rigid tone. It was clear that she had not gotten used to formal speech.
"No need for the formal tone if you can't do it properly. Just use whatever tone you used to do in the past." Lei Zhen responded in an outright manner.
He was fine with Howard using the formal tone because that was something he had practiced his entire life.
Hence, Howard's tone of speech didn't seem out of place and was natural compared to Candice's.
Since they were going to be in the sea for quite a while, Lei Zhen didn't wish to hear Candice in a rigid tone constantly.
"O-Okay then, Master," Candice replied subtly.
"The calculations have been calculated already so I'm now adjusting the ship to match some of the values." She added.
"Good," Lei Zhen clasped his hand and turned toward Howard.
"Go and begin to steer the ship."
"Understood, Chancellor," Howard replied swiftly and headed to the steering room.
Time slowly passed by, and Howard soon received the go-ahead signal from the crewmen on the ship deck.
A loud honking soon echoed, a signal that the ship was beginning to set sail.
And through the windows by the Control Room, Lei Zhen slowly saw the distance between them and the Strandland Port was gradually getting bigger.
To confirm it, Lei Zhen also opened the Magnolia map system and sure enough, it indicated his character was slowly moving out of the grid of Yors Castle.
It was moving toward a gray and dark area, mainly because it was an area that he had not explored yet. The area would only be revealed once he explored there personally.
The only thing visible on the map was that he was entering the Sea of Terantia.
During his research of the sea, it could be considered a relatively safe sea passage as long as one does not deviate from the path. Once deviated, it would be said that they might face dangerous sea monsters and possibly pirates.
Taking off his mask, Lei Zhen turned his attention to Candice. She was currently checking the sea level and the weather, seemingly in deep concentration.
"We just started sailing, so you don't have to be that intense yet." Lei Zhen said.
"How about you tell me what your clan used to do before all those tragedies occurred?" He then added.
Candice snapped out of her deep concentration and nodded her head slightly.
She walked forward a bit and remained standing, not sure if she was allowed to sit or not.
Lei Zhen simply made a signal for her to sit, so Candice did just that and began to narrate part of her clan's life.
"We high elves are in touch with nature and would rarely go outside the sacred forest protected by the Shrine Priestess."
"Shrine Priestess? Is that some sort of a goddess to you high elves?"
Candice nodded her head.
"Humans have goddesses to worship, and so do we high elves. Though we don't refer to them as goddesses because they are somewhat different from them. Shrine Priestess is someone that came to be through nature." She explained.
"I see… so the forest you reside in was protected by the Shrine Priestess. Then how was it possible for humans to invade the sacred forest?"
Candice's calm expression changed rapidly as she muttered two words.
"Church's weapon."
